There is no such thing as an ideal client. However, ideally you should be at the "Contemplation" stage of change. This stage of change means that you are aware of the pros and cons of change and you intend on addressing the concern between now and the next six months. The cons are probably weighing you down and you are ready to begin facing some sort of dilemma such as an "ultimatum." As your therapist, I would like to help you with this transition. Here is what that means; I believe in YOUR ability as the EXPERT in your life I am only your catalyst.
The world we live in can sometimes be rather chaotic. Unforeseen events, life stressors, and traumatic events can make it fairly easy to feel alone and very difficult to cope. I believe it is important to have a therapist who you can connect with, feel understood and empowered by. My ability to listen without judgment, show compassion, be empathetic and provide evidence based practices are essential in helping you find solutions from within. I believe in being a key partner in your life and walk with you through the difficulties you are faced with, no matter how long it takes.

You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you.`

There is no shame in seeking assistance when things just aren't going well and occasionally, everyone needs help. Whether an adolescent or adult, you must want to be helped, willing to help yourself, and embrace change. I work best with individuals who accept and welcome an honest and direct approach. I tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. I also work with couples and families who need an outsider's objective perspective to improving communication and relationships. I believe in rational, logical choice and decision making. Seeing me for assistance when possibly required is a rational and logical choice.
A challenging responsibility in life is to heal emotional wounds. Family crisis, divorce, losses, anxiety or having a child with emotional or intellectual barriers to be successful in life without finding the desired answer creates frustration and distress. Psychotherapy as an alternative isn't the easiest answer but could be insightful and resilient. Children with developmental difficulties, learning disabilities, autism or conduct disorders can benefit from a holistic approach that considers the healing of their emotional pain as resource for reaching developmental goals. I work with a collaborative approach. You will discover your own potential and solutions to your specific circumstance.

I enjoy coffee, college sports, my dogs, travel, and collecting mechanical watches.
