Your feelings are not the problem, they are the symptom. I am not here to waste your time, so, I won't spend a great deal of time validating your feelings and repeating your words back to you. Rehashing past experiences to no end is not helpful. While past experiences will be part of our discussions, growth manifests through present integration. Speaking the truth is how people heal. While discomfort is not my ultimate goal, prioritizing your comfort above the truth would not help you. If we share this value, my style of therapy may be right for you.

My approach is to help clients become free of their emotional overreactions (especially recurring upsets) and break free from the grip of their past wounds. I also work to help identify conditioning and beliefs that my clients have inherited from their families which are NOT consistent with their own core nature. It's all about becoming more authentic. I believe that the more true to ourselves we become, without the old wounds, conditioning, and societal pressures (such as needing to be seen as a nice guy/girl or needing approval from others) then the more whole and joyful we become in our everyday lives.

Want to respond better to life's curveballs? Therapy can clarify the uncertainty that accompanies life transitions—which are often fraught with anxiety, depression, self doubt and unexpected changes in relationships. I help adults find meaning and direction during these times. Others seek therapy with me to address relationship difficulties, school and career stress, low self esteem and general life dissatisfaction. I offer a supportive place for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and what's best for you. We can meet in my office, or we can walk and talk outside.

For many of us, life simply does not go as planned. Whether it's anxiety from relationships, pressure from work, or a disconnect between your values and decisions, we all can feel lost at times. I'm here to be a support! My role as your therapist is to work alongside you to create a space for you to engage in self-discovery, process life events, unlearn unhelpful beliefs and behaviors, build coping skills, and work towards inner peace that often feels eluding. Together we can re-gain a sense of control as no matter what's led you here, I believe in the human capacity to adapt and grow with the right support.

As we try to conquer life's ups and downs and attempt to figure out who we are; we run into roadblocks. Life is about struggles, barriers, and journeys; sometimes we face things that seem too hard to overcome. Just know, that you don't have to do this alone, part of being strong is asking for help or guidance. People deal with depression, anxiety, and trauma, which makes us who we are. The most significant part of the struggle is fighting our own internal demons. It's time to take hold of what you want and fight for yourself.

Therapy shouldn’t feel hollow or performative. Maybe you’ve had a therapist rely on clichés like, “holding space” without sincerity. Or you’ve avoided therapy altogether, fearing judgment or detachment. You’re here because patterns in your life won’t change, and the weight of wondering if it’s all your fault—or some cosmic punishment— sucks. You’re starting to see where your parents fucked up, and how it’s on you to fix it, but you want someone who will truly care and challenge you to fight for yourself.

My ideal client is self-motivated and curious about their socioemotional growth. They may present with a wide range of issues, but they're looking for someone to meet them where they are and approach growth at a pace that feels right for them. They are open to trying multiple approaches if needed to find the best fit.

Everyone deserves to be heard and feel seen. We all have experiences and vulnerabilities that should not diminish our self-worth. I listen to my clients with understanding, patience, kindness, and empathy. Talking to a therapist doesn’t mean you are unusual or broken, it means you care for yourself and recognize the value that therapy can provide. Empowering my clients to navigate their lives with more awareness and tools allows them to grow into the healthiest version of themselves. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I am EMDRIA-trained in EMDR. I see clients online and in-person in South Austin or Round Rock, Texas.

Some of the challenges my clients have presented include grief and loss (including death loss as well as complex and non-traditional forms of grief and loss), sports performance-based anxiety at the collegiate level, identity exploration, life transitions, eating disorders and body image, women's issues, and depression.
My therapy style is highly relational, collaborative, and humanistic. Operating from a holistic lens, I consider each client as their own unique individual within the context of their environment. Central to my therapeutic style is my emphasis on the working relationship; I take the time to get to know each client outside of their "presenting problem" and have a natural inclination to see their inherent strengths. With my lived experience as an NCAA collegiate athlete, I can provide meaningful empathy and understanding to a student-athlete's experience.
