I often use EMDR, talk therapy with a psychodynamic focus, parts work, somatic work, and sometimes cognitive behavioral approaches like CBT.
I offer depth-oriented therapy, meaning transformation through felt experience, getting in touch and being curious with the most complex parts of ourselves, examining wishes, fears, traumas, losses and dreams with the goal of creating more freedom and less anxiety to live a bolder more purpose filled life with deeper connections to self and others. I work well with creative and deeply feeling and thinking people and those who have an authentic desire toward growth and healing. Carl Rogers believed in a natural human arc toward self actualization given the right conditions. I work from this tenet and witness it in my work everyday.

Everyone deserves to be heard and feel seen. We all have experiences and vulnerabilities that should not diminish our self-worth. I listen to my clients with understanding, patience, kindness, and empathy. Talking to a therapist doesn’t mean you are unusual or broken, it means you care for yourself and recognize the value that therapy can provide. Empowering my clients to navigate their lives with more awareness and tools allows them to grow into the healthiest version of themselves. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I am trained in EMDR. I see clients online and in-person in Austin, Texas. Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Lyra, and self-pay accepted

I primarily take a person centered holistic approach rooted in somatic body-centered, emotion-focused therapy.
In a nutshell, this means I aim to help clients get out of their heads and into their hearts and bodies. The fast paced, over stimulated world we live in promotes activation in our nervous system that can lead to racing thoughts, struggles with executive functioning, challenges with emotional regulation, barriers to connection with self and others, and more.

I believe that all individuals have the capacity to self-heal. An honest and dedicated therapeutic relationship can be the perfect catalyst for growth and change. Through a guided and collaborative approach, we can discover why we fall into the same patterns, often reliving past hurts, and develop practical strategies for living a more inspired and satisfying life.

I use EMDR, somatic body work, CBT, and mindfulness.
Do you ever feel emotionally overwhelmed and not fully understand why? Maybe you overthink conversations, struggle with anxiety, shut down during conflict, or feel responsible for others’ emotions. As a first-generation adult, you may carry pressure, guilt, family expectations, or past experiences that taught you to ignore your own needs. Trauma, criticism, or emotional neglect can shape how you see yourself today. Therapy can help you understand these patterns, feel more grounded, and live more authentically without sacrificing your peace of mind.

I value a holistic approach when working with clients to co-create a space where we can walk through your personhood and experience together. We will utilize a blend of IFS, interpersonal, and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic intervention methods (Jungian), while focusing on your specific situation and goals. I have high regard for the information we receive through non-ordinary states of consciousness is for processing and integration (e.g.: unconscious material brought forth through psychedelic experiences, meditative states, synchronicities, dreams, and visions).

I work with people who want help improving their relationships, or who want relief from the pain of their self-criticism, loneliness, or overwhelming feelings—usually some combination of these. Some of the people I work with want to feel more fully alive. Many of them want to learn how to deepen their connections with others and feel more at ease just being themselves in the world. I specialize in working with people who experienced relational trauma early in life and want help learning to exist fully and connect with others in the present.

The focus of my practice is helping adults, young adults and teens discover ways to manage whatever life throws their way. Young adults face many challenges as they transition from adolescence to adults. Some struggle with school, work and finding financial independence from their family. Others struggle with having healthy dating and peer relationships. It can be challenging to learn how to manage your own emotional distress when things get too overwhelming.

These include Attachment Theory, Poly Vagal Theory and somatic therapy practice, Internal Family Systems Theory and practice, Dialectic Behavior Theory and practice, as well as many others.
I heard many years ago a professor make this foundational statement of truth about counseling–human beings are wounded in relationship, so it is in relationship that we are healed. Through the intervening years, in practice as well as in life, I have seen this truth play out again and again–it is relationship, fundamentally within ourselves, that serves as the agent of healing, growth, and positive change. As a clinician, it has become a primary focus of my practice to establish and maintain a relationship of compassionate curiosity, caring, and trust within which clients can explore and heal the pain that brings them to therapy.

My ideal client is one who is ready to begin the journey towards a better functioning family, and/or a happier life. That person wishes to move through their past experiences and begin the healing process. Healing may require a level of discomfort, but my ideal client has likely been uncomfortable before. That person is ready to feel safe and find the strength and comfort to provide connection with this clinician needed for goals like improved intimacy, decreased sadness or motivation, work-life balance, couples, family of origin issues, and trauma. I enjoy working with the LGBTQAI+ community.

I weave in IFS, ACT, somatic awareness, and attachment-based approaches depending on what each client needs.
Hi, I’m Allie. If you’re carrying something heavy — past trauma, anxiety, or a life that feels like it shifted under your feet — healing is possible and you don’t have to figure it out alone. I specialize in trauma therapy using EMDR, a research-backed approach that helps your nervous system process what talk therapy alone sometimes can’t reach. My clients are often in their mid-20s to late 30s, navigating relationships, big life transitions, or patterns that keep showing up no matter how hard they try to change them. If that sounds like you, I’d love to connect.

Using integrative somatic therapies and resilience coaching, we clarify your system needs, identify patterns that keep you braced or shut down, and build skills for regulation, boundaries, and sustainable resilience.
If you’re used to being the steady one—the professional, caregiver, or provider others rely on—you may appear strong on the outside but feel tense, depleted, or disconnected inside. Over time, unchecked stress, loss, or change can leave us stuck in a state of high alert or quiet shutdown. This isn’t weakness; it’s adaptation. I focus on restoring your flexibility, helping your nervous system settle, rebuild regulation, and rescript patterns of over-functioning or self-silencing. Together, we will build and strengthen healing neural pathways so you can respond to life with steadiness, clarity, and choice—not just endurance.

I have extensive and comprehensive training in the latest interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, somatic, and emotion research, grounded in depth psychology fundamentals.
Your resiliency has gotten you far, but what if you don’t have to keep going at it alone? What if, rather than being “broken” or needing to “get over it already”, you have actually needed - and deserve - the right kind of support for you to heal, grow, and thrive? When we are understood, accompanied, and supported in a deep, reliable way, the healing and transformation we seek can unleash from our own interior. Seemingly paradoxically, deeply connected, safe relationships liberate us. It takes real strength and courage to reach for this kind of support. I hold deep respect for you seeking this out, as well as faith in your process.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
