There is profound healing that comes from being in a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can finally show up as your full self beyond the masking that life, relationships, and the systems around us often demand. This is a space where you’ll be met with genuine curiosity, not assumptions; with purposeful exploration, not pressure.

I draw from CBT (and DBT, RODBT, CBT-I), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness practices, depending on your needs and preferences.
If you identify as highly responsible, self-critical, people-pleasing, or perfectionistic, you know these come at a cost. Feeling nervousness, tense, resentful, or guilty, can be hard to shake. I specialize in alleviating stress and conflict for the people who hold it all together, and frequently co-occurring anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and depression. Common goals include managing symptoms of anxiety or depression, quieting self-criticism, healing from childhood abuse or neglect, or navigating difficult relationships with family. If this resonates with you, you can contact me here or book a consultation directly on my website.

Being a human is complicated. We all can use someone to help us sift through the noise and connect with our inner truths. Good news: the mind is hardwired to heal itself. Given the right conditions, we are all naturally inclined to integrate the various parts of ourselves and find peace in our wholeness. My role is to foster these conditions. The therapy room is a spacious place, free of judgement and full of care, where any and everything you show up with is welcome. I am genuine and direct with my communication, and also recognize that, ultimately, you are the expert on your own life.

We are a group therapy practice who works with adolescents, young adults, as well as adult populations. We provide individual, group, and family therapy. We work with clients to help them achieve a greater sense of awareness so that they may identify patterns and behaviors that interfere with living the life they want. We work with clients who tend to struggle with negative self-talk, which can manifest for some as disordered eating or a lack of self-compassion. We work with clients to understand and improve these parts of themselves. We also strive to instill a sense of hope, as we think this an important part of the process.

Hi, I’m Mira, a licensed therapist passionate about helping people navigate life transitions, heal from past wounds, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. Life’s challenges can feel especially heavy when you’re navigating societal or family expectations. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I understand the complexities of inter-generational trauma. The weight of cultural and societal expectations can take a toll on one’s mental health. Family & religious pressure can also have a negative effect on our own identity and self-perception.

I imagine you’re here feeling scared, overwhelmed or confused by your inner world. Maybe you are catching yourself acting in ways that are uncharacteristic. Or after looking at your pain from every angle, you’re starting to lose hope about finding a path out. You want a way back to your center. You want to feel good about your choices in the present and hopeful about the future. Therapy with me is an opportunity for that kind of clarity and healing.

I help my clients understand and manage relationships and anxiety -- in both their personal and professional life. Many of those I work with find that my down to earth manner and focus on finding solutions is just what they need to move forward. Individuals (children, adolescents and adults), couples, and families often feel relieved to know they can learn the skills to be successful and improve their relationships.

I am a Christian counselor and my passion is helping people experience the power of real connection and break free from addictive and compulsive behaviors such as porn, sex, alcohol, drugs, food, work, video games, etc. After 20 years of providing both individual and group therapy, I have discovered that group work is the game-changer. Clients in weekly recovery groups consistently experience faster, deeper, and more lasting transformation, period. That’s why I now focus exclusively on the power of group work.

If you find it difficult to self-reflect amid the clanging of many voices, especially if those inner voices are critical or anxious and leave you feeling stuck, you could choose to ignore the voices, or you could choose to talk to someone! It may help to know that you are not alone. Many people struggle to untangle the stories in their minds. Some planted there by early and enduring traumas. Therapy is an invitation to connect to wounded parts of yourself that have been left behind, and to hear them out. Therapy invites you to listen to those silenced stories and uncover a True Self.

While experiencing pain is a part being a human, long term suffering does not have to be. Life brings with it a rich and vast set of experiences which can include complex and confusing family dynamics, navigating relationships including our own relationship to our bodies, affection and sex. Death of a loved one or an animal, an end of a relationship or friendship, existential questions around who we are and what has shaped us, what our purpose(s) are in life and why we matter.

As far as anyone can tell, you’ve got a great marriage and life. You’re accomplished, always loving to each other and close with friends and family. But on the inside, you have never felt so alone. Over the years you have tried to rationalize, fix, and excuse your relationship growing apart, yet it is disheartening. Something just does not feel right anymore, and you begin to realize you feel like you have a roommate rather than a partnership. Maintaining a fulfilling and loving relationship can be a challenge in today's fast paced environment.

On the outside, you look strong and capable. But inside, the weight of self-doubt, guilt, or a quiet sense of disconnection is heavy. Part of you longs for a deeper connection and freedom, yet another part worries you might be too much or not enough. I work with deep thinkers and feelings who are ready to understand what's happening inside and untangle the blocks that keep them stuck. Many of my clients have learned to keep their true feelings hidden and to only show the "together" version of themselves. Therapy offers a space to finally set the weight down and begin living from a place that feels more authentic and free.

I work with children, adolescents, college students, and with adults, collaborating closely with the client and incorporating psychodynamic, cognitive, solution focused, and humanistic approaches.
My goal is to help others build fulfilling and happy lives, even through unanticipated challenges and concerns, over a lifetime of development. Listening with curiosity and a thoughtful lens, I hope to team with each person as we creatively approach and work through the issues at hand, inviting and amplifying native strengths and potentials. At times dynamic, at times simply being together with certain truths, incorporating when appropriate the healing potential of working outdoors ... walking, talking, navigating terrain and thoughts.

It takes courage to seek out therapy, so congratulations on taking the first step in your journey of therapeutic healing and connection to self and others. What happens in the therapeutic setting in conjunction with lifestyle enhancements can, over time, bring about lasting change. With gentle facilitation, you can increase awareness of body and mind and enhance mood, motivation, agency, and integration of skills. These self-improvements allow for a more self-directed life that can be lived more fully through consciously curated personal values and choices.

Psychodynamic Therapists

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
