We hold space for so many - family, friends, people at work - which is why it is so crucial we do the same for ourselves. Welcome to my corner. I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician with experience in education, outpatient clinic, and non-profit settings. My passion is working with adolescents and adults. My intention is to empower my clients towards creating a life of happiness, love, and purpose, guided by practices such as setting healthy boundaries and practicing self-care. As my Cantonese Chinese culture is meaningful to me, I hope to support you in exploring and processing your own experience with a culturally mindful lens.

You may appear capable and put-together on the outside while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or alone. Many of my clients are thoughtful, responsible adults who have spent years caring for others, over-functioning, or minimizing their own needs. They often feel stuck in repeating relationship patterns, people-pleasing, emotional exhaustion, or persistent anxiety despite trying hard to cope. You may be highly self-aware, still feel pulled into the same dynamics, unsure how to change them. If you’ve done therapy before but sense something deeper remains unresolved, you may be ready for a more focused trauma-informed approach.

Do you feel like you're just going through the motions- exhausted, anxious, or weighed down by things you can’t quite name? Maybe you’ve tried to push through, but nothing seems to help. Are you overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the weight of past experiences-military or otherwise-that won’t seem to let go? You want to feel like yourself again-but aren’t sure where to start. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Now more than ever, people are feeling disconnected, emotionally exhausted, and unsure of how to move forward. Healing begins with being truly seen and supported.

Are you grappling with the impacts of a loss, medical diagnosis, or trauma? Loss is common to the human experience, but when it stems from the death of a loved one or a cancer diagnosis, it can be especially isolating and overwhelming. You’re asking big questions: Will I always feel like this? Is this normal? When will my suffering end? And despite trying therapy in the past or talking to your friends and family, it’s felt like no one has truly understood your experience. You’re craving warmth, safety, and radical unconditional regard—somewhere all of your emotions, questions, and fears can be freely shared and expressed.

Maybe you haven’t quite felt like yourself lately. Even when things appear steady on the outside, you may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that insight alone hasn’t shifted. Navigating multiple roles, cultural expectations, grief, or life transitions can leave you feeling unsure of where you belong. For many people, a high-functioning or guarded exterior masks an underlying sense of exhaustion and persistent distress. If you want to feel more grounded in life, and connected with your authentic self, but not sure how to begin - I see you.

I struggled with Anxiety and Depression too, but it gets better! I often like to joke that I took my first college psychology class as a DIY project. My ideal client is someone who feels stuck—whether it's struggling with focus, social anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or past trauma—and is ready to develop new skills to navigate life more confidently. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as creative interventions like art and Play Therapy.

Life can feel overwhelming—especially in today’s fast-paced, post-pandemic world. You may be navigating past trauma, depression, or the challenges of ADHD, while feeling pressure to have it all together. Perhaps your mind rarely slows down, motivation feels inconsistent, or self-doubt keeps you stuck. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who feel exhausted from overthinking or trying to meet impossible expectations. In therapy, we slow things down, understand patterns shaped by your experiences, and build tools to help you feel more grounded, self-compassionate, and aligned with the life you want.

I believe the Beatles had it right when they said, “All you need is love.” Life doesn’t always go according to plan—unexpected challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from ourselves and others. In those moments, it’s not just what we go through that hurts—it’s often the feeling of not being seen, heard, or understood. At our core, we all need validation, compassion, and a safe place to process what we’re experiencing.

I enjoy working with clients who are in a period of transition, want to work on identity, gender or sexuality issues etc. I also enjoy working with clients who want to understand their emotions better and find ways to navigate managing them, clients who are navigating difficult relationships/family issues, and clients who want to collaborate. Lastly, I enjoy clients who are open to unconventional practices of therapy such as gaming, walking/talking, and creativity.

I have special interest in supporting Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) mental health.
Many of the individuals I work with are young adults in their 20s and 30s navigating the unique challenges of their generations. You might come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, burnout, or a persistent sense of not being “enough.” If you're in this stage of life, you may be figuring out how to manage the pressures of adulthood—navigating career uncertainty, transitioning into married life or parenthood, or confronting the lasting impact of childhood wounds. Identity exploration, family conflict, relationship issues, and pressure around achievement are common themes I address in my work.

Pacific Islander Therapists
What are the advantages of seeing a Pacific Islander therapist?
For many Pacific Islander individuals, working with a provider who shares or respects their cultural background can foster a deeper sense of trust and connection in the therapeutic process—an essential foundation for effective care. A significant barrier to mental health treatment for many Pacific Islander individuals is the stigma that may be associated with seeking therapy. A culturally aligned therapist can help reduce this stigma and normalize the therapeutic process. Pacific Islander therapists may also be especially well-equipped to address issues that affect Pacific Islander communities, such as historical trauma, intergenerational grief, and cultural identity—factors that deeply influence mental health experiences. Providers who personally identify as Pacific Islander may incorporate traditional healing practices, spiritual beliefs, and community-based approaches that align with Pacific Islander values. Additionally, Pacific Islander therapists can serve as important sources of representation within the mental health field and may be familiar with culturally relevant resources, support networks, or other trusted providers who understand the unique experiences of Pacific Islander populations. As a result, they are often well positioned to offer referrals and collaborate with other professionals, helping to ensure care that honors both clinical best practices and cultural traditions.

How to find a Pacific Islander therapist?
Psychology Today’s online directory is a useful tool for finding a Pacific Islander therapist. You can filter for providers who identify as Pacific Islander or who mention working with Pacific Islander populations and highlight cultural competence in their profiles. Look for signs such as experience with Pacific Islander communities, familiarity with cultural and spiritual practices, or a focus on trauma-informed and community-centered care. Depending on your preferences and needs, it may also be important to ask whether a provider offers telehealth, which therapeutic approaches they use, and whether they accept your insurance. If you're unable to find a therapist who personally identifies as Pacific Islander, you may also consider providers who have experience working with Pacific Islander clients or who demonstrate a clear commitment to cultural knowledge and respect for Pacific Islander values and traditions. You might also consider a blended approach—for example, seeing a therapist for talk therapy while also working with a member of the Pacific Islander community for more culturally-specific support.
