Are you stuck repeating old patterns? Are you trying to figure out who you are and who you want to become? Is your past trauma causing you to feel defeated and overwhelmed? Together we can explore these questions and collaborate to help you find new, adaptive patterns and create healing and meaning. Much of my clinical background and training has been focused on treating the impact of trauma in its various forms. I have found that I enjoy working with clients who grew up in households with substance abuse and with individuals who have lived overseas. Please know that I am LGBTQ affirming and culturally sensitive.

The goal is for my clients to walk away with the same curiosity and unconditional positive regard for themselves that I cultivate with them in our sessions. Through the gentle untying of the knots of trauma along with reinforcement of strengths and resources, the internal compass can once again be recalibrated toward joy, with intention and self-compassion. Sessions with me involve curiosity, education, and concrete practices that will help shift your perspective on your internal and external experiences, and give you the knowledge necessary to get you back in the driver's seat of your life.

Academically trained in psychodynamic technique, I offer clients an integrated and responsive psychotherapy experience. By combining elements of narrative, existential, and person-centered theory, clients are encouraged to explore their life experiences in a supportive environment that provides new insight and deeper understanding. DBT and REBT techniques are often combined with solutions-focused interventions to move clients from recognition of problematic defenses to active strategies for improving coping skills and increasing resilience. I also provide EMDR therapy to assist clients with post-traumatic growth.

I believe that trauma is the universal experience --we all carry trauma with us--which is why I'm a trauma therapist with a focus on complex PTSD. I am EMDR-trained and it is a big part of my practice, but I draw on many therapeutic modalities to meet my client's needs. To me, therapy is about releasing the things that prevent us from moving toward ease in our daily lives, in our relationships, and in the way we show up in the world.

Welcome! I am a believer in living one's life deliberately; however, the day to day commitments, expectations, and challenges sometimes divert us from living the life we want for ourselves and loved ones. Having a fierce advocate to remind you of your strengths, help you navigate challenges, and support you on your journey is why therapists are here. Building a strong healthy relationship with your therapist serves as an incredible catalyst for change in our lives. Building community helps us connect better to ourselves and enrich our everyday existence.

I have 15 years of experience counseling youth and adults in various settings. My concentration has been young adults and the LGBTQ+ population. I take the approach of starting where you are. Through connecting and talking about your intentions, we can begin to find a pathway to addressing and exploring the issues that are impeding your happiness. Within each human is an inner wisdom, and my role is to help you connect with that part of yourself, increasing self-confidence and life satisfaction. It helps to have an outside perspective, and I support your path to choosing a life with more understanding.

After battling addiction for many years, I discovered a new way to live through psychotherapy, the 12-steps, physical fitness, & spiritual practice. Ramtha said, "Your greatest accomplishment in life will be living through it." Today, living is my way of life. Today, I can look at myself in the mirror without shame, guilt, sadness, & self-hatred. I can appreciate my past & not run from it. I can form meaningful loving relationships with others because I have first learned how to love myself. I have learned how to overcome obstacles and cope with worry, anxiety, & depression. I have learned to enjoy every moment, good or bad...

You have taken a courageous first step by considering psychotherapy. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, experiencing difficulty in relationships, or going through a life transition, I am here for you. I believe that therapy is a commitment and an opportunity to invest in and explore our true selves. I believe true change happens only once a person feels seen and understood. My priority is ensuring that you feel safe and comfortable so that we can work together to reach your goals. We all need a safe space to process and work toward our full potential.

What is keeping you from going after the life you truly want? Most of my clients' lives are circumstantially difficult. If you live with medical uncertainty as a patient or caregiver, for example, it can be hard to feel safe or confident you will get what you need. If your childhood did not teach you much about feeling safe or self-reliant, figuring that out as an adult isn’t especially intuitive. Therapy is a great place to address issues that feel irrational or to regroup when you feel stuck for whatever reason. Even when life is hard, you still get to do your life your way. Feel your feelings and act from a position of strength.

I am a licensed social worker and contemplative psychotherapist practicing in Texas. I specialize in helping people return to themselves through understanding and attuning to their nervous systems, while rediscovering the wisdom inherent in their own bodies so that they may fully realize their own purpose and have a better sense of belonging. My philosophy centers around the understanding that a client is always the expert of their own life. It emphasizes the importance of witnessing and supporting the client's personal journey, with the overall aim to assist you in improving the quality of your life and your relationships.

I help people understand themselves. When you understand yourself - your patterns, your perspective - you can change whatever isn't working in your life, and invite in more of what is. If you're struggling - with sadness, constant worry, difficult family or romantic relationships, feeling discontent or just plain stuck - I can help you move forward. I provide a friendly, comfortable space where you can relax and talk frankly. I listen actively, and offer fresh insights and feedback, as well as new skills and strategies for you to try. You will leave with new things to try out and more hopeful for the future.

People seek therapy for many different reasons. Some people seek therapy for difficulties that started in childhood. Other people seek therapy, to enhance their relationship with their partner(s), to cope with life stressors, relationship challenges, adjusting to new situations, grief or loss, feeling anxious, family conflict, or feeling “stuck.” Life is not always easy, but together we can determine ways to overcome the obstacles. I work to provide a safe haven to explore past and current struggles. I strive to help you achieve your goals in a nonjudgement safe space.
