As of 4/10/26, I am accepting new clients, in person (Austin) and online. There is nothing wrong with you. You’ve learned some patterns that made sense at the time, got reinforced by your environment and now things have gone haywire. Everything you’ve learned can be unlearned. I’m Christie, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 13 years of lived recovery experience. People come to me having tried other approaches and feeling like healing just doesn’t work for them. They leave with actual tools, a lot more self compassion and sometimes even something they didn’t expect, they start to see the good in themselves.

CRM and Brainspotting, brain based therapies, evolved out of EMDR and are highly effective for a broad range of psychological trauma resolution, performance blocks, ADHD, complex PTSD, substance abuse, etc.

Do you want to grow and self-actualize? My modalities are experiential/insight oriented, so I like to work with people who look into themselves for healthier, fulfilled lives. Do you have depression/anxiety, bipolar? Looking for a career change, have gender identity questions, or want to maximize your potential? Need learning disability advocacy? Then call me today. We bring our past and decisions into every situation. Knowing what those decisions are, and that the past does not define us, is the first step in successful therapy. I use re-decision, Gestalt, NLP, hypnosis, and mindfulness to find answers and peace within.

I work from a person-centered approach, which means you’re steering this thing and I’m in the passenger seat calling out the blind spots. I’m not here to hide behind clinical jargon or hand you canned advice. We’re going to talk honestly about what’s messing with your life, stealing your happiness, and why it keeps showing up. We’ll tear into the patterns, build something real, and treat vulnerability like the strength it actually is. If you’re ready to dig deep and do the raw, uncomfortable work of healing, I’m here for the whole ride.

I help people quiet anxiety and manage overthinking by exploring the stories we tell ourselves. Using mindfulness, narrative therapy, and inner child work, we’ll uncover what triggers those big emotions—often tied to feeling unseen or not enough as a kid. Together, we’ll break down the roles you’ve had to play to survive and gently reconnect you with your most authentic self. Our thoughts matter. They shape how we perceive ourselves and navigat the world. But the brain can change. Thanks to neuroplasticity, we know that old beliefs can be rewired with awareness and practice.

From the outside, your life may look steady, capable, and successful, yet internally you’re ready to feel more at ease, more connected, and more like yourself. You may notice moments where your mind keeps moving, your body holds tension, or your emotions take longer to settle than you want them to. At times, you can see what you want and hear the insight clearly, yet it doesn’t fully translate into how you feel. There’s a part of you ready for your internal experience to match the life you’ve already built. I work with women who are high-functioning, self-aware, and ready to deepen their sense of internal stability and connection.

Hardly anybody I know aspires to be that average, center-of-the-bell-curve person. In different ways, we all deviate from the norm, which explains our own uniqueness. My aim as a therapist is to work with individuals, couples, triads, and families in a way that celebrates their uniqueness and "incurable deviance." By meeting you where you are, with who you are, in a way that makes best use of your unique strengths, hopes, dreams, and quirks, we can work together as client(s) and therapist to help you address your current challenges, get lots more of what you want, develop skills, transform, and explore new choices available to you.

If you’ve experienced talk therapy and still feel stuck, you may be ready for deeper work. I specialize in integrative trauma therapy for individuals and couples, including attachment wounds, complex relational patterns, and life-altering experiences. My approach goes beyond insight toward lasting change. Rather than only talking through problems, we work with the patterns that drive them and heal at the source so you’re not just coping better, but responding differently.

Do you ever feel like you know exactly what's wrong, yet nothing really changes? The same reactions, habits, or relationship dynamics you thought you had worked through keep showing up anyway. If that happens, you're not broken. Often it means you're disconnected from the deeper intelligence within your system that knows how to heal. I work with people who are done managing symptoms and ready to transform them at the root, not just the surface. Many of my clients are insightful, capable people who are tired of repeating patterns and want something deeper than coping strategies or surface level change.

How does neuro-linguistic programming work?
A therapist using Neuro-linguistic programming might start by building a strong rapport and gathering information about the client’s objectives and any problem areas. Then the NLP therapist will employ NLP techniques to guide their client toward healthier thoughts and behaviors. Clients will learn how to better manage their moods and hone their communication skills. NLP will conclude with the therapist and client making a plan for how to integrate the positive changes into their daily life in the future.

What are some techniques used in neuro-linguistic programming?
NLP therapists often employ anchoring, so the client begins to automatically associate their trigger with a healthier response. Clients also learn how to reframe a situation to change the way they react to it for the better, and how to replace the negative beliefs that are holding them back. Many NLP clients practice visualization or forming a mental image of themselves attaining their goals. Every NLP therapist will have their own preferred approach with specific techniques that they have found to be helpful for their clients.

How long does neuro-linguistic programming take?
Since neuro-linguistic programming is not regulated, the length of treatment can vary greatly. Some therapists may only use NLP in a single session, while others may employ it over the course of weeks, months, or even years. It depends greatly on the type and severity of the problem being treated, as well as the individual client’s response to NLP treatment.

Is neuro-linguistic programming evidence-based?
While some people may find neuro-linguistic programming helpful, either in therapy or in their career or personal development, the science behind this approach is inconclusive. Most of the available studies are small in scale and have produced mixed results, and the commercial nature of NLP lends itself to conflicts of interest. More research is needed. In the meantime, practitioners must use their best judgment of whether NLP techniques will be helpful in meeting their clients’ individual needs.
