I have helped many
women
find relief and uncover their inner strengths needed to live a more authentic life.
Are you someone who looks like you have it all together but don’t feel that way on the inside? You’re driven, working hard to accomplish the things you're supposed to but at some point you realized you have lost sight of who you are and don't feel the happiness or contentment you thought you would. Perhaps you can’t get a break from your negative thoughts taking up space in your head, leaving little room for you to connect with yourself and others. You're tired from trying to keep up with the expectations that have been placed you, leaving you unfulfilled and anxious. Mostly, you want to find relief and regain control of your life.

Life can consist of many twists and turns, and it can be overwhelming to face things alone. Oftentimes, these difficulties can be emotionally challenging, a trigger to past experiences and leave us unbalanced, revealing some of the coping behaviors we use to deal with them. If you are here you have probably had your share of the twists and turns that life has to offer. Congratulations on taking the first step to a "new beginning". I want to walk with you on the journey of becoming your true authentic self and live a life filled with new possibilities.

I particularly enjoy helping
women
and men through times of transition (e.
I work collaboratively with my clients to help them identify, appreciate and cultivate their strengths so they can utilize them in resolving their difficulties. I use a brief therapy approach to treatment, but the length of treatment depends on the nature of the problem and the needs of the client. I work primarily with adults and older teenagers. The therapeutic relationship is an important part of treatment and it is essential that we feel comfortable working together. A brief consultation would help us to determine if the treatment approach and therapeutic relationship might be a good fit for you.

I love supporting
women
wherever they are on their life's journey and specialize in helping
women
struggling with fertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood parenting.
As a recovering perfectionist and people pleaser, I often work with
women
who struggle with the same things. These tendencies can be so helpful in life, but they can also get in the way of how you truly want to live your life. The clients I see often have difficulty with boundaries, experience a lot of self-doubt and uncertainty, and feel disconnected from their true authentic selves. Rather than giving my clients answers, I help guide them to discover the truth and courage that lies within them, but is often covered up by their own adaptations to life and trauma.

I also love working with
women
and their unique struggles as they balance career, relationships, parenting, family schedules and so much more.
Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious all the time, numb or like you're living life on autopilot? Maybe you feel empty and struggle to be present in your relationships? Or like you have lost yourself along the way. I get it. You are exhausted. I take a nurturing and direct approach to therapy. Together, we will process though your current stressors, understand how your past is affecting your present, and find a healthy path forward. I take the process of creating a safe space seriously. I use my warmth and gentle humor to help my clients feel like they can be their true selves, without worry of judgment.

I work with
women
and couples who are overwhelmed, going through transitions, and stressed out about navigating life.
Do you ever just want to go on strike? The kids, the spouse, the job, community commitments and all the rest take a toll after awhile, and everyone is depending on you. Maybe there are transitions going on with you or your family - a new baby, a first or last child starting school or graduating. You feel exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated and maybe depressed and anxious. It's hard to shut off your mind, and even at night when you should be sleeping, you stare at the ceiling worrying over all the people and responsibilities in your world.

I am passionate about working with
women
surrounding codependency, trauma, anxiety/depression, and attachment wounds from a heart-centered lens.
You're feeling stuck. You're finding yourself feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from life, others, and maybe yourself. You feel uncertain of your thoughts, wants, needs or what to do. Trauma can leave us feeling hopeless, exhausted, and alone. It can make us shut the world out, or put other's needs before our own in hope for solace. At times it can feel like change isn't possible, or if we just ignore it long enough it will resolve itself.

It's time to clear away stale patterns that no longer serve you, and learn how to create and live your own unique, brave, and meaningful life. You're ready to take the first step towards change, I am here to explore with you how you can claim a life that is your own beautiful creation.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
