Are you struggling with connection and communication? Do you feel stuck or trapped? I work with couples, individuals, and families struggling with these issues and many others that cause disconnection and resentment. When individuals, couples, and families find themselves no longer able to move past difficulties an outside resource can create new patterns. I offer insight and concrete tools to bring hope and forgiveness. We will work together to discover what blocks have been put in place and why. Once these are uncovered we will work to build reconnection. I specialize in substance use, postpartum, couples, and family dynamics.

In network with Cigna! You may notice your mind rarely slows down. Maybe you replay conversations, struggle to sleep, or feel like your body is always bracing for something. You might be frustrated that you keep ending up in the same relationship patterns even though you genuinely want something different. It can be confusing to work so hard on yourself and still feel stuck. Therapy with me goes deeper than symptom management. We look at what is driving these patterns and why they make sense given your history.

Hi, I’m Crystalyn. I work with people who feel things deeply and often carry more than they show. You might be overwhelmed by strong emotions, past experiences, or a constant sense of heaviness or disconnection. Maybe you’re highly aware of your inner world but still feel stuck—like something inside you is keeping you from moving forward in the way you want. You don’t have to go through it alone. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore your experiences at a safe pace. Together, we’ll look at what you’re feeling now, what’s shaped you, and gently work through what’s getting in the way of feeling more grounded and whole.

You may be the person everyone relies on—the caretaker, peacekeeper, or people-pleaser who struggles to make space for your own needs. I work with young adults, especially women, queer, trans, and nonbinary individuals, who feel stuck in patterns of overgiving, self-doubt, or unhealthy relationships. Whether these patterns stem from trauma, difficult life experiences, or relationship wounds, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, set boundaries with confidence, and build relationships that feel safe, authentic, and reciprocal.

I’m drawn to working with people who are doing their best but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next step. Many of my clients are thoughtful, caring individuals who tend to carry a lot on their shoulders—whether that’s anxiety, relationship stress, or the pressure to hold everything together. They may not have all the answers, but they’re open to exploring, growing, and creating something different for themselves.

You want to feel confident that your child will find their way through the struggles, that they will flourish and thrive. Maybe you feel worried or have no idea where to start, but just know that your child may need some extra support. Watching your child navigate through a storm of intense emotions can be challenging, as it seems they are facing battles that aren't always visible or easy to understand. Despite the challenges, your deepest desire is for your child to know they are cherished, resilient, and capable of handling their big feelings.

Are relationship dynamics, family tension, or the patterns you keep repeating leaving you feeling stuck and disconnected from who you truly are? Whether the struggle is personal, between partners, or felt across the whole family, it rarely exists in isolation — and neither should the solution. You don't have to untangle it alone, and you don't have to choose between getting help as an individual or getting help together. In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in couples and family therapy, helping you gain deeper insight into your patterns and become more of who you truly are.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
