I use Interpersonal neurobiology, feminist theory, parts work, as well as techniques from Gottman and EFT.
As an associate, I am Supervised by Nicole Richardson, LPC-S, LMFT-S. This means that I consult weekly with a more senior therapist to ensure that I am offering my clients the best of care. Everyone loves a new baby in the family, but it is often difficult for parents to feel seen and supported during one of the most challenging times in their lives. I enjoy working with people in intimate partnerships and individuals who are new parents or trying to be new parents. There is so much to explore here: your new identity as a parent, learning how to parent, and figuring out how your relationships have changed with everyone in your life.

I draw from Gottman, emotionally focused, and person centered as helpful tools in the therapy process.
I specialize in all forms of relationship dynamics both monogamous and non-monogamous and have experience both personally and professionally with non-monogamous relationships. Clients come to me when they are looking to navigate a new dynamic or are feeling stuck in their current relationship style. Let’s face it, communication is complicated. Nobody teaches us how to do this in life. Emotions can become overwhelming leaving us feeling alone and stuck. This is why I’m here. I believe in providing you with skills and resources to navigate all difficulties that may come to you in life. I don’t just sit and passively listen. We work.

I specialize in helping individuals and couples break generational cycles through Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment work, CBT, and mindfulness.
Are you juggling multiple roles—whether as a family member, a professional / student, or a creative who marches to the beat of their own drum? I see you. You might be struggling with imposter phenomenon or burnt-out from perfectionism. Maybe you’re dealing with a stressful transition & unsure if you can keep up the superwoman act. Or, family expectations are becoming too much. The point is: You. Are. Exhausted. Leading to anxiety, shame, isolation, poor health, & low self-esteem. If feelings like "I'm not good enough", "I don't belong", or "I don't even know who I am", keep you from experiencing true rest, know you are not alone.

I'm also trained in EFT and DBT.
Accepting new clients for in-person. We all encounter major stress and loss and often we recover well on our own. Sometimes life becomes overwhelming, confusing and too big to process alone. You can reach out for support, and you don’t have to do it alone. Through therapy, you have the power to focus on what helps you learn and grow. I am passionate about helping clients connect to their core values in therapy. We'll use mindfulness-based therapies to help you become aware of thoughts and behaviors that prevent you from experiencing a joyful and authentic life. I enjoy using humor, creativity and self-compassion in my practice.

That's why emotionally focused couple therapy (EFCT) could be a great option for you.
Disagreements are natural, but how you handle them matters. The non-blaming and supportive approach of emotionally focused couple therapy (EFCT) will enable your relationship to recover and repair.

The thought about talking to a stranger about what’s going on is terrifying. When the process involves an honest conversation about symptoms, family problems, and addiction or other “shameful” family secrets, it can keep anyone from healing. You were taught to keep it to yourself and not cause trouble. To not air family secrets and that emotions are dramatic and useless. Especially the biggest of all- grief. There is nobody that gets to escape grief in this process. It's a myth that any of it has to be painful or overwhelming. And struggling with feelings or needing to heal doesn't make you weak.Nobody taught you how to do this.

I am certified in EMDR, trained in EFT, and completed Level 1 Gottman Method Training.
Do you feel not "enough"? Do you struggle with people-pleasing? Likely, you’ve spent much of your life hiding your true self—shaping yourself to fit what others want or accept. You may find yourself in relationships or situations with people who just don't "get" you. Somewhere along the way, you were taught that expressing yourself is wrong—that you should hide your emotions or needs because they're not okay. You have no idea what you need or you fear you will be rejected for having needs at all. You feel alone in your relationships, yearning for community of people who accept you for you.

I primarily utilize an integrative approach, leaning heavily on EFT and RLT, combined with somatic processing, mindfulness, arousal regulation, and attachment theory.
Are you struggling with connection and intimacy in your relationship? Do you feel misunderstood and frustrated after conversations with your loved ones? Disconnection in our relationships can leave us feeling isolated and lonely, even when our loved one is sitting right next to us. I am skilled at helping people heal their 'relational wounds', strengthening the connection and understanding of themselves and other important people in their lives. The best part, this kind of work isn't just for couples, but also for individuals, families, or parents.

I tailor my approach to each client's specific needs but I tend to favor relationally-focused and trauma-informed treatment models like EFT, EMDR, and Narrative Therapy.
You’ve been barely hanging on for so long—trying anything to reconnect with your partner(s), family, or friends, meet everyone's expectations, and fend off emotional burnout. Perhaps you’re navigating neurodiverse relationships or carrying the weight of unprocessed trauma, and it feels overwhelming. You want to move forward but find yourself stuck... caught in patterns of sensory overstimulation or conflict in your relationships. You hope to break free from the cycle of frustration and self-doubt, feel like you're truly moving toward your goals, and create healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parts work, EMDR, and Emotionally Focused therapy are a few of the therapies I use frequently with clients.
I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and feel seen. We all have experiences and vulnerabilities that should not diminish our self-worth. I listen to my clients with understanding, patience, kindness, and empathy. Talking to a therapist doesn’t mean you are unusual or broken, it means you care for yourself and recognize the value that therapy can provide. Empowering my clients to navigate their lives with more awareness and tools allows them to grow into the healthiest version of themselves. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I am EMDRIA-trained in EMDR. I see clients online and in-person in South Austin or Round Rock, Texas.

I enjoy working with young adults looking to better understand and shift their unconscious relationship patterns in order to feel more connected to themselves and those around them. Together, we identify where defense mechanisms might be inhibiting you from authentic connection. And more deeply process the underlying thoughts, feelings, and belief systems enforcing these undesired ways of relating. My ultimate goal is to help connect you with your true authentic self and then be able to connect with others from that place.

Are you stuck in an uncomfortable situation and feel hopeless about what to do next? Many of my clients find they are tired of giving up parts of themselves in order to survive or fit in. It can be difficult keeping up with the demands of career, family and friends. It is common to feel misunderstood, lonely, isolated or alienated.

I utilize a blended approach based on Interpersonal Neurobiology, IFS, Somatic work, Sandtray Therapy, DBT, and EFT.
Courtney is an experienced trauma therapist specializing in complex trauma and obsessive thoughts. As children, we learn to disconnect from our feelings to survive and adapt to challenging environments, and as a result develop coping tools that may not help any longer. Courtney encourages curiosity and brings warmth to vulnerability in sessions by maintaining a safe space to explore without judgment. Courtney works collaboratively with you to set the pace for therapy work, trusting your nervous system to know when, and at what speed, to share and process personal vulnerable experiences. Lets uncover the true, authentic you.
