I strive to create a comfortable environment and secure therapeutic relationship that allows us to explore the parts of yourself that may be difficult to face on your own.
Often, people seek therapy because they are struggling with difficult and painful feelings. Others may have trouble getting in touch with their feelings at all but know something is not quite right in their lives. To me, the goal of therapy is finding balance- getting in touch with our feelings without allowing them to overwhelm us, being vulnerable and asking for support when we need it while trusting our own inner strength and abilities.

Everyone deserves happiness! I have experience and am trained to help you with any of the following: OCD, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, grief, relationship conflict and breakups.
Does it seem like anxiety and OCD are hijacking your life? You ask yourself, why can't I stop worrying? Why can't I trust myself and gain control? I'm here to help! Allow me to help you turn down the volume on OCD. It's difficult to manage OCD and anxiety alone. It's not like you can just "snap out of it" and quit worrying. Using a cognitive approach, and I-CBT will allow you to restore faith in yourself and feel confident. As a CBT counselor, I work with adults, teens and children providing effective strategies to help you find relief. Together, we will help you learn how to live life peacefully and lower your stress level.

With couples , it also improves communication and the ability to be nurturing to one another.
PEACE. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." This has been a goal in my life, and one I have enjoyed sharing with my clients. These days, most of my clients seek counseling because they are having trouble sleeping, are overindulging in food or alcohol, are feeling angry and irritable, or sad and low on energy, much of the time.

Having concerns about your body or your relationship with food can be difficult to live with. Messages we hear from our families, communities, and media can make us feel disconnected from our physical experience. You might be hoping to improve your relationship with food, or to heal from the societal messages you've absorbed, or to understand yourself better. You may wish to bridge the gap between your mind, your body, and your soul.

I offer a trusted, caring, genuine and safe relationship to my clients.
Making the decision to seek counseling is the first and most difficult step in this process. I offer a warm and relaxed environment to my clients- a place they can feel safe and protected. I believe having a natural connection with your therapist is the most important aspect of the counseling process- it is within the therapist and client relationship that healing and growth occurs. I am compassionate, respectful and nonjudgmental. I combine my positive energy with a grounded, realistic approach.

The well-lived life is a marathon and everyone could benefit from having a training partner , someone who helps them to put the past into perspective, find moments of hopeful joy in the present, and plan for a future that connects aspirations and potential.
Academically trained in psychodynamic technique, I offer clients an integrated and responsive psychotherapy experience. By combining elements of narrative, existential, and person-centered theory, clients are encouraged to explore their life experiences in a supportive environment that provides new insight and deeper understanding. DBT and REBT techniques are often combined with solutions-focused interventions to move clients from recognition of problematic defenses to active strategies for improving coping skills and increasing resilience. I also provide EMDR therapy to assist clients with post-traumatic growth.

I want to help you change your relationship with yourself, and aid you in acting in ways congruent with your values even though negative thoughts and feelings may be there.
Sometimes, life can be difficult. We suffer more when we fight, resist or avoid painful thoughts, feelings, memories or sensations. Living a value-driven life is challenging when we do this.

Client participation in and outside of therapy as well as the relationship with your therapist are the greatest determinants of positive therapy outcomes.
Living authentically requires a sense of self and trust of self that many struggle to achieve for many reasons. A disconnect to self often culminates in issues related to: ineffective communication, enmeshment with others' boundaries, unhappy/unbalanced relationships, false narratives that perpetuate misery, hypersensitivity, self expression/embodiment, expression of needs/wants, emotional regulation, "Imposter Syndrome," intergenerational trauma and patterns of choices/behaviors that keep you feeling "stuck." I enjoy helping others to reach within and reclaim power through insight oriented approaches to illicit real change.

I am an in-person therapist for teens, adolescents & adult women's issues w/evening & Sat availability. Are you ready for change? Curious what's going on? Want to find both acceptance and the change you desire? This often involves identifying the roles of our big emotions and taping into internal compassion. My approach is caring, curious, non-judgmental and utilizes evidence based approaches.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
