On the surface you appear to have it all. A good job, friends, a place to call home, yet you still feel a void. You feel you should be happy but somethings getting in the way. You've always had to work a bit harder than others, you work to push through but that's getting old. Maybe even your relationship is beginning to suffer because burnout is real. I work adults and couples who are feeling "stuck" or burnt out, from the challenges of being neurodivergent . The high functioning people who can power through. You don't need to walk this alone ,a lot of my clients identify as a person having Autism, ADHD, HSP or a combination.

For military families, anxiety is often a shared yet unspoken companion. The unique challenges of military life, from deployments to constant relocations, can foster a sense of perpetual uncertainty. Acknowledging these shared experiences is vital in understanding that while the journey is challenging, it's also a path towards collective strength and support.

Relationships can be challenging, that doesn't mean they're unable to work. I’m here to offer compassionate, effective guidance to help you and your partner not only navigate difficulties but truly thrive, rediscovering the strength and connection that first brought you together. Every relationship has its own story and context, and I approach each couple with that understanding. In addition to couples therapy, I also work with individuals coping with grief, relationship transitions or navigating end of relationships.

Welcome. I am a state board-approved LCSW clinical supervisor with over 10 years providing therapy, and trained in Parts Work, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and EMDR. But aside from all that, I believe what matters most is the connection we build. I work with people who are tired of being perfect and pleasing, over-functioning, & achieving. Some things about it worked for you in the past—but it's left you anxious and worn out. You feel stuck in overwhelm, dissatisfaction, and disappointment in this intense, unjust world. Your highly sensitive nervous system is constantly attuning and appraising—“Is it safe for me to be me?”

You’re capable and high-functioning, but something’s off. You feel disconnected: from others, from purpose, maybe even from yourself. You’re not falling apart, but you’re not thriving either. I work with people who are navigating identity, pressure, and emotional barriers they’ve carried for years. If you’re ready for a direct, grounded approach that doesn’t waste your time, I’m here for it. I don’t believe in sugar-coating. My style is direct, intuitive, and rooted in reality. Therapy with me is about showing up honestly and doing the work that matters.

I help individuals and couples heal from grief, trauma, and relationship struggles using EMDR and other evidence-based approaches. EMDR helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their emotional intensity, allowing space for calm, confidence, and growth. Many of my clients come to therapy after years of trying to “think their way through” distress, only to find themselves repeating old patterns. EMDR offers a different path — one that helps your nervous system and emotions finally catch up with what your mind already knows.

I am educated in integrating Christian counseling into the therapeutic process if this is something that is desired by my client.
I love that you’re considering therapy - it can be such a powerful process. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to have their mental wellness cultivated, and I hope to provide that space for you in our meetings. I have spent the past five years as a therapist supporting a variety of mental health needs. And now, I feel so lucky to work within a collaborative group practice (fun fact - my husband is a therapist there too). But I believe an equally valuable part of my journey to being in mental health has been as a counseling client myself, learning first-hand what it is like for those who sit with me in session.

Christian Therapists

Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?

Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?

Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?

Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?

While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?

The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
