Attachment-based Therapists in Austin, TX
Hello and Welcome! It has been a dream of mine to become a therapist since I was about 11 years old. Sexual health discussions have never made me uncomfortable in any way, and I like to provide a safe space for clients to discuss these issues. Many people experience shame about their relationship preferences, kinks, and sexual orientation. I like to help individuals and couples who may be struggling in this area. I also enjoy working with clients who are gender diverse, are thinking about or currently transitioning, and so forth.

Relationships are inherently complex, and even our most intimate ones can be confusing and painful. It's my job to help you make sense of the complexity. Rather than focusing on fixing something, I put greater emphasis on understanding and processing your conflicting feelings and desires. When we are able to identify and explore conflicting states of mind, we feel less stuck and more free to make choices that reflect what is most authentic to who we are.

I believe that therapy should be a supportive, collaborative and challenging experience of self-discovery and self-acceptance where all emotions, ideas and issues can be explored and new patterns can unfold. Primarily working with adults, I specialize in working with individuals who may have had difficult childhoods and are wondering how those past experiences may be contributing to their current struggles, conflicts, stagnation or chaos.

Many of my clients have difficult family relationships, struggle with boundaries, and are working on finding love from within, rather than externally. Through a genuine and trust-centered therapy relationship, my job is to create room for exploration and self-acceptance so that my clients’ lives can improve. I use relational and EMDR therapies most frequently.

You built a life that works. You are successful, independent, and capable, yet dating and connection can leave you overthinking, hesitating, and going home alone more often than you want. You may understand exactly why you freeze, withdraw, become overly careful, or second-guess yourself when someone genuinely matters. Work rewards analysis and gives you problems you know how to solve. Relationships bring uncertainty, imperfect cues, and real emotional risk. I work primarily with analytical single men who want a relationship but feel stuck when connection becomes real.

You’re smart, capable, and exhausted from working twice as hard just to keep up. Maybe it’s ADHD. Maybe it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, or the emotional weight of trying to function while masking who you are. More often than not, it’s a combination of these. I work with neurodivergent adults, LGBTQIA+ folks, couples, parents of ADHD adolescents, and professionals who want more than symptom management—they want a life that actually works. Through therapy, ADHD coaching, parent coaching, and evidence-based education, we’ll build practical skills, deepen self-understanding, and create strategies that work for you

I specialize in working with self-criticism, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and often related psychological disorders (OCD, PTSD, anxiety, depression). Feeling nervous, worried, depressed, or guilty can be a daily struggle that makes it difficult to get things done, let alone enjoy life. My work focuses on reducing anxiety and depressed mood; fostering self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-worth; healing from emotional abuse and neglect; and ongoing difficulties in relationships.

Welcome! My practice is rooted in sharing how our connections to our bodies, nature, and community can support us in the healing process. This knowledge that has been shared with me has illuminated my path and has enriched and expanded my training in traditional western psychology. Throughout my career of over a decade, I have worked in various settings and communities throughout the country. I believe mental health is prevention and community medicine and as such, should be accessible to everyone. With this in mind, I work hard to create a space of inclusivity in my work.

Big feelers, deep thinkers, and highly sensitive folks, welcome. Perhaps you’ve done a lot of self-reflection, and maybe you’ve even been in therapy before, but something still feels stuck. You may understand your patterns and where they come from, yet you find yourself repeating the same struggles in relationships, feeling anxious and disconnected from yourself, or unable to connect to the dormant potentials you know are within you. Perhaps you are successful and self-aware on the outside, but internally you feel overwhelmed, guarded, disconnected, or like something deeper is keeping you from fully showing up as your true self.

I am a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst experienced in working with older adolescents and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems and struggles with family dynamics, mood disorders, substance abuse, college and life transition anxieties - and those helping family members with these problems. My style is warm, engaged and collaborative. While I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, my orientation is primarily psychodynamic, which means I start with the assumption that the sources of distress can be complex and often outside our immediate awareness.

You may have found yourself here because something isn't working the way it used to. You may have spent a lot of time trying to figure things out on your own. Perhaps you've reached a point where something isn't working the way it used to. You find yourself facing the same challenges, asking the same questions, or carrying the same weight despite your best efforts to move forward. Or perhaps nothing is obviously wrong, but you have a sense that something needs attention and you're ready to understand it more fully. Sometimes the goal isn't finding more answers-it's asking different questions.
