Do you feel alone or hopeless? Do you or someone you know struggle with alcohol or other substances? Have you been wishing that you could go back to the early days of drinking? Are you being dishonest about how much you drink or use? Maybe you have been questioning what happened and how did I get here? When we consume alcohol or other substances we are looking for a release. Some people can find this without the damaging effects it can create on our lives. Some of us are no longer able to do this. If you are looking for greater connection and other ways to relax and find comfort, I can help.

Life is everchanging. My clients are experiencing challenges that require them to change in order to go forward. Some clients are interested in dreams and personal growth over time. Others want some immediate support to help them sort out the difficulties they currently face: whether it be the loss of a relationship, a career, a difficult illness, or some other major change in one's orientation to life. I have a depth and breadth of experience working with people of all stripes and in both law and social work: that is, people who have been stuck in some very difficult places. I value individuality and wholeness--not perfection.

I work with adults, couples and families who are experiencing conflict, negative or anxious thoughts, feelings of being "stuck" or hopeless, lonely or insignificant. I also work with individuals and couples seeking infidelity recovery. God has a good plan for everyone but realizing that plan can be difficult today with the myriad of distractions and demands on our time and emotions. Situations like divorce, loss, health, betrayal, and other conditions can compound the struggle. I provide a reorienting, nurturing voice of compassion to walk beside you through those times, to help you appreciate your true self and enjoy life again.

I specialize in outliers, those who think differently, live intensely, or carry experiences that feel too strange for standard therapy. From high performers to those hearing voices. If you've ever felt too complicated or too sensitive, you're in the right place. I’ve helped clients beat depression, stabilize mood swings, manage hallucinations, and get promoted. Having faced PTSD myself, I know how dark life can look, but I also know the way out. Let me help guide you toward a brighter future. Together, we’ll play detective, unearth the roots of your struggles, unravel what’s holding you back, and create interventions that resonate.

Are you asking yourself, "Am I strong enough to get through this?" When life presents us with challenges that seem too difficult to bear, we often get stuck in a mental cycle that repeats, "Life isn't fair." I won't tell you otherwise, but I will help you find the strength to go on anyway. In my work with oncology, grief, trauma, and couples in conflict, I have worked with clients in unimaginable physical and emotional pain. Together, we uncover and process the emotions that cause anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, insecurity, and that sinking feeling that you may never get back to "you."

At the heart of my work is a deep belief that healing is a relational process. I approach therapy from a psychodynamic perspective, where the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a powerful catalyst for growth and transformation. I integrate modern neurobiology with holistic somatic healing, creating a safe and nurturing space where body, mind, and emotions can awaken and reconnect. I specialize in a somatic-centered approach, recognizing that the body holds the key to our stories, experiences, and unprocessed emotions. I work with you to explore and release these patterns, helping you to reconnect with your true self.

At the heart of my work, I aim to help others love themselves in a way they never thought possible, through a process of learning to identify their emotions, enhancing trust in themselves to feel, and supporting follow through in authentic action. Cheesy perhaps… but without genuine self-compassion, the change we seek in our work, relationships, and self, will often fall short. If you suffer from anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, people pleasing and appeasing, toxic relationships, ADHD, addiction or recovery, loneliness, harsh self-criticism, identity confusion/loss of creative self, or all of the above, I’d love to connect!

We’ve all had sexual encounters we regret. It’s normal. However, what if you engage in sexual behaviors time after time despite the fact you don’t want to anymore? What if hating yourself for it or hurting someone you love by doing it isn’t convincing enough to refrain? I help those whose love and sex experiences are driven by compulsion and preoccupation rather than spontaneity and freedom. Many might identify as addicts or describe their behavior as out of control. Others call it problematic, while some may not really know what it is. In any case, sex, porn, or intimacy has become an overpowering force in your daily life.

I have witnessed the destructive power of addiction firsthand as a musician. Substance abuse issues plague the music community, I saw families torn apart, lives ruined, and dreams shattered. These experiences left an indelible mark on my soul and ignited a deep passion within me to make a difference in the lives of those affected by addiction. Through my journey, I have understood that addiction is a complex, multifaceted issue affecting individuals from all walks of life. This realization has fueled my commitment to serving with compassion and empathy.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
