While anxiety is an important emotion that can protect us, it can also become an overwhelming presence in life that may lead to distress and interference. You may find that your anxiety prevents you from doing the things you want to do - achieving your goals, enjoying your relationships, and succeeding in school or at work. In an attempt to cope with and decrease anxiety, you likely find that it actually grows over time. Through a supportive and collaborative environment, I would like to help you develop the evidence-based skills needed to change your relationship with anxiety and empower you to gain back control of your life.

Are you a highly driven person needing help with your anxiety, stress, or relationships? Sometimes we need a safe place to sort through it all. No one teaches us what to do with overwhelm, depression, anger, grief, or pain. What to do with setbacks, lack of confidence, or loneliness. How to fix a broken relationship, or how to get yourself out of a difficult situation you feel stuck in. Together we can sort through your current life stress, bring understanding, new perspectives, wisdom, and healing. I work with CEOs, business owners, and other highly driven people wanting help with their personal lives.

I am licensed in Texas, Virginia (virtual), Washington State (virtual), and Florida (virtual). I provide athletes a place of understanding support to work through issues such as eating concerns, body image, anxiety, depression, injury, post-sports career, relationships, substance use, or traumatic events. Athletes devote tremendous time and energy to physical training, and I believe intentionality with mental health is just as important for improving quality of life, and for improved sports performance.

I'm Andreanna. My approach to therapy is rooted in curiosity, empathy and authenticity. I believe deeply in the power of the therapeutic relationship and seek to build a strong foundation of trust and safety with clients. Often clients come to me to work on healing from past attachment trauma that manifests as current relational issues Many of my clients are part of the LGBTQ+, polyamorous, and kink communities or identify as artists, creators, and trailblazers—people who exist outside the mainstream, and are deeply committed to self-exploration and healing, exploring their identities, or deepening intimacy in their relationships.

You did everything right. Followed the rules, considered and anticipated everyone's needs and somehow still found yourself on the losing end of a curve ball you didn’t see coming. Looking back, you can see that you found too much of your worth in making others happy, in avoiding conflict to not "upset the cart". You truly believed that by following the rules and doing everything "right" that life would turn out the way it was supposed to. But now, your life is chaotic and confusing. You're feeling at such a loss for what to do and how to be in this world. You need a guide to help you make sense and turn things around - fast.

Welcome. I am a state board-approved LCSW clinical supervisor with over 10 years providing therapy, and trained in Parts Work, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and EMDR. But aside from all that, I believe what matters most is the connection we build. I work with people who are tired of being perfect and pleasing, over-functioning, & achieving. Some things about it worked for you in the past—but it's left you anxious and worn out. You feel stuck in overwhelm, dissatisfaction, and disappointment in this intense, unjust world. Your highly sensitive nervous system is constantly attuning and appraising—“Is it safe for me to be me?”

I work with adults on a wide range of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and intimacy and relationship issues.
Our mind, emotions, and life experiences affect our constitution. My clients and I work together to bridge the gap between the mind, physical body, and human energy system. There is no “one size fits all” treatment, therapy will be a collaborative process. I look forward to taking this journey with you.

I began my therapy career in Chicago working in group therapy treatment for adults struggling with substance use disorders and addiction.
Feeling stuck in the same painful cycle with yourself or your partner? I'm a trauma-informed therapist who will help you to heal the past that's creating obstacles for you in the present. I frequently work with couples, neurodivergent people, LGBT/queer folks, self described nerds and artists. I help my clients overcome anxiety and depression, meet their goals, improve self-esteem, recover from burnout and advocate for their boundaries & needs. When working with couples, I'm passionate about creating improved communication and awareness of unhelpful patterns (so we can break them!) leading to increased intimacy and friendship.

Expert with Adults, Military Veterans, Academics, & Creatives.
The bottom line is this: psychotherapy should be affordable, smart, efficient, and caring. As I practice it, counseling involves helping persons understand their own nature and, especially, their desires and needs. Counseling offers a sanctuary for persons to sort out their lives and more intimately explore their direct experience. My practice is dedicated to the process of authentic transformation, arising from the client's and therapist's co-exploration of "what is."

Most of the women I work with feel stuck in old patterns that no longer serve them. Often dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the impact of past trauma. Many are balancing careers, relationships, or parenting and are searching for tools to feel more grounded and confident. My clients want more than just coping skills, they want to understand the “why” beneath their struggles so they can break free, heal, and create meaningful change.

I approach therapy with the intent to get to know you on a core level. This includes understanding your feelings, thoughts, behaviors, desires, and relationships. We then collaboratively use this information to make meaning of your experiences both past and present. I pay attention to your emotional presence and seek to understand how your past experiences may be leading you to protect yourself from vulnerability and uncomfortable feelings. This understanding can help you engage more actively with yourself and enriches your interpersonal relationships.

Adults Therapists
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioral therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists hold various licenses depending on their training and state requirements. Common therapy credentials include Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs). Psychologists (PhD or PsyD) receive additional doctoral-level training and may focus on assessments or more specialized therapeutic approaches. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
