I work from a
trauma
informed perspective that incorporates CBT, gestalt, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
Every emotion, thought, or feeling we experience is valid and has the potential to impact our lives. Feeling intense emotions can be difficult to process and at times we need to seek clarity for what we are experiencing. I view therapy as a team effort with you as the expert of your own life. Together we will define the problem(s) and work to create real and meaningful change. I will provide you with knowledge, skills, and support along your journey in addition to a warm, nurturing, and judgement free environment. Every person is unique and I will provide you with a tailored approach to each therapy session.

Trauma
? Infidelity? Desire personal growth? Letting go of unhealthy or destructive ways of thinking - even when we know they aren't working - can be difficult and hurtful. With support, however, even the most challenging issues can be explored and addressed to help create a clearer path to the life/relationship you choose. Every person comes to therapy with a beautifully unique cultural background and personal history. I celebrate these individual differences. Ask about my specialized training for treating

I have been providing psychotherapy to individual adults (ages 21+) dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, compassion fatigue,
trauma
and challenging transitions since 2013. Through my Master of Science program in Clinical Mental Health from the University of North Texas (UNT), I began working with clients in residential addiction treatment, including licensed professionals,
trauma
informed therapy, and training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). Yet with the knowledge and experience I have obtained, the fact remains that only YOU are the expert of YOU and the CEO of your life!

Are you caught between worlds? My online practice caters to cross-culturals. As a first generation Austinite and global citizen, I see you. Do you need space to unpack ancestral and intergenerational
trauma
? Is your relationship strained by cultural differences? Moved and feeling homesick? Cultural fluidity, exploring identity, finding belonging, and navigating transition are common themes that lead folx to my practice. Authentic living is your birthright. You don't have to transform generational cycles on your own. I invite you to receive the support you deserve on your journey. When we heal ourselves, we heal the world.

Using a gentle, unwavering approach, I help sensitive women heal from past
trauma
and attachment wounds.
You just want a soft place to land. You’re a sensitive woman and feel things more deeply. Lately, you feel lost, disconnected, and wonder if you can feel better. You thought you were ok but experiences from the past have reappeared. The anxiety and sadness have crept in. No one can tell because you hold it all together. Exercise, eating healthy, scrolling, reading about what you're going through, and talking to those closest to you isn’t helping anymore. You’re exhausted and it’s taken its toll. You want to feel less shame, more confidence; no longer feel like the past is in control; and gain a sense of calm and freedom from this.

Hello and welcome! If you're reading this profile it likely means you're looking for assistance either for yourself or for someone else. Finding a therapist that's a good match can be very challenging. It can be hard to know what you're looking for in a therapist and how to go about selecting one. I offer a free consultation to assist with determining goodness of fit without commitment. The research shows that having a strong client-therapist relationship can significantly increase positive therapeutic outcomes.

I specialize in working with adult survivors of narcissistic, borderline, or antisocial (psychopathic) parents. I also work with people struggling with partners who have these disorders. As a result of this work, I am also skilled in working with
trauma
. I can help you learn to live without fear, understand your emotions better, and manage your
trauma
symptoms instead of the managing you. Life is too short to live in fear, to be continually overwhelmed by your emotions, or to be stuck in toxic relationships. I can help you find your way out.

If you feel like you have tried everything and nothing works, I get you! I strongly believe that we all have an inner wisdom deep within us, but through our life experiences and social influences, most of us lose access to our Real truth. In our work together I will guide and support you as we peel back the layers so that you can reconnect with your deeper sense of self. As you begin to make that connection, shift happens. My hope is for you to leave my office feeling empowered in your healing journey.

Or do you simply have a feeling that something isn’t working, that you’re disconnected from your partner or loved ones? Set yourself and your relationship up for success by engaging in relational therapy. Together we can understand why you’re both feeling stuck in your relationship and work to create new, healthier communication cycles. When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
