Hi, I’m so glad you’re here! Throughout my time as a therapist, I have learned that every person needs a space where they feel seen, safe, and valued. I believe that each person’s value is rooted in their identity in Christ, but I know that understanding this truth is a process for each person, and may not even have begun for you! I focus now on serving children over eight years old, teenagers, and families (who have children or teenagers). I specialize in working with people involved with foster care, those struggling with depression/anxiety, and everything in between!

I enjoy working with children and adolescents of any age. Listening to children and teenagers is so important as they often can tell us what we need to know to support them. I use both talking and play to facilitate connection and communication. Interpersonal experiences affect our relationships and the way in which we interact with others. I have a strong background in family systems, school collaboration and developmental and attachment theory which is instrumental in my work with clients. I also work with families to facilitate communication when there is a disruption in the family system due to divorce or adoption.

I specialize in depth-oriented and existential work with clients struggling to reignite a sense of meaning in their life. Common issues I work with include trauma recovery, chronic depression, addiction, living with neurodiversity, and young people (teens and young adults) who are trying to launch into adulthood. As one of the only psychotherapists in Austin with formal training in existential therapy, I am particularly skilled at working with issues around meaning and purpose. Many people come to me feeling hollow and disconnected from themselves and others, but there is hope in seeking help.

Hello. Some people come to therapy because talking hasn’t helped—or because their body knows something is wrong even when they can't explain it. I work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—and who need something more. I am here to help guide and witness your growth, where creativity meets the wild-healing through art and nature. Conversations and directives that revolve around joy, humor and a fresh perspective while working with neuroscience to explore repetitive patterns. Non-pathologizing safety, creating the life you want and deserve.

My ideal clients, whether individuals or couples, often feel stuck. Individuals may face anxiety, sadness, or tough transitions. Couples might be struggling to communicate effectively, rebuild their connection, or navigate conflict. They need a compassionate, non-judgmental space to be heard and understood, individually and together. Their primary goal is to find clarity, develop practical tools to manage emotions or improve relationship dynamics, and enhance overall well-being. Ultimately, they want to feel more empowered, authentically connected to themselves or their partner, and genuinely hopeful.

Hi there and welcome! Reaching out is one of the hardest steps, but I truly believe everyone can benefit from therapy. We all face tough situations, and talking through those situations with someone who can offer support in a non-judgmental, unbiased way can be extremely helpful. Since multiple factors affect how people respond to different experiences, it is essential that your treatment plan be individualized for your specific situation. Regardless of what brings you into therapy, I strive to offer these individualized plans by pulling from various therapy modalities while including you every step the way.

I'm a therapist and I work with people who have mixed anxiety and depression. Over time, I've noticed a few patterns my client's have in common. See if this fits: you're tired of being your own worst critic. Maybe you've achieved what you're "supposed to" but feel unfulfilled. Or maybe you're stuck while others seem to move forward easily. Either way, you're harder on yourself than anyone else would be.

I believe that counseling is first and foremost a relationship. As any good relationship is based on trust, so effective counseling is also based on trust. Trust develops when people feel accepted and supported no matter what their circumstances, and when they know the other has their best interests at heart. Honest communication is essential to the therapeutic relationship. For clients this means not withholding information that is difficult to discuss. For the counselor, this means giving honest feedback.

My main areas of specialty are working with grief, trauma, attachment issues, substance use and identity. Those who have experienced a loss, whether due to death or illness, or a non-death loss related to times of transitions, loss of relationships, jobs, or identity, are a particularly good fit. My work with couples is similarly informed by my understanding of attachment and trauma, which is integral in assisting couples in deepening their connection to each other. I also co-facilitate a weekly women's process group where we apply individual's work in a group dynamic.

You’re capable and used to holding things together, but lately it feels heavier than it should. Maybe you’re exhausted by overthinking, carrying responsibility for everyone else, or managing relationship conflict. On the outside, things look fine. Inside, you know something needs to change. I work with adults who need space to slow down and recalibrate. We'll work together to define the problem and explore how your identities (e.g., race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender, etc.) have shaped your experiences. We'll set goals and create a treatment plan that moves you toward a more productive, authentic, values-driven life.

Feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in survival mode? Stress, trauma, and chronic overwhelm can leave your nervous system feeling depleted, on edge, or shut down. If you've tried "talking it through" but still feel the effects in your body- tension, exhaustion, anxiety, or emotional numbness- you're not alone. Healing doesn't have to mean reliving everything that happened. It can begin by gently helping your body feel safe again. In our work together, we'll pay attention to body sensations, emotions, and patterns that show up in the present moment.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Crestview, Austin?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
