Are you carrying pain that others can’t see. You may feel alone, stuck in cycles of anxiety, shame, or relationship struggles that keep repeating. Often these patterns begin in environments where emotional needs weren’t fully seen or supported, leaving you in survival mode, overthinking, shutting down, or doubting yourself. Therapy can be a space to understand these patterns with compassion rather than judgment. I help adults explore the roots of these experiences and reconnect with their sense of self so they can move toward greater clarity, balance, and authenticity. I am here to help you through this in a safe space.

For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and adolescents from traumatic backgrounds, including those affected by abuse and neglect. That formative experience shaped my approach to counseling, which emphasizes understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My clinical focus includes the treatment of anxiety-related disorders—such as phobias, OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety. I also work with individuals navigating depression and challenges related to ADHD.

I honestly enjoy caring for people, animals, and the world we share. I help create open, curious environments with my patients where we learn and grow together. I think people are fascinating and unique. Unfortunately, there are no "quick fixes" that bring about instant, dramatic healing. Healing is gradual, organic, and takes time. I love working with people who are motivated to improve their lives. Therapy is for everyone. Whether you're in a very low, desperate place or in a reasonably good place, we can find ways to make your existence more enjoyable and fulfilling. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Many people quietly carry anxiety, trauma, depression, or relationship pain for years while appearing “fine” on the outside. Whether you are struggling with conflict in your family, communication difficulties with a partner, emotional burnout, or a persistent sense of dissatisfaction, you do not have to navigate it alone. I work with individuals to better understand the experiences and patterns that may be keeping them stuck.

Greetings! As a licensed professional counselor and co-founder of The Alternative Center for Therapy, my work is rooted in the belief that our earliest relationships and unconscious patterns continue to shape how we experience the world today. In my practice, I offer a space to explore the deeper emotional layers beneath present struggles—whether it's anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or patterns of self-sabotage. Together, we'll look not just at symptoms, but at the internal conflicts, unmet needs, and defenses that keep them alive.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
