I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including Sand Tray, Solution Focused and EMDR.
It takes courage to take the first step and reach out for help. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where you are able to share your story. Maybe you are dealing with relationship concerns like a change in your family situation. Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. Maybe you are trying to overcome a past experience, trauma or struggles with family, life transitions, friends or school. My goal is for you to feel honored, valued and heard. All of these topics can be tough but talking with someone can help. I would be honored to help you with any of your worries or concerns.

I am licensed in Texas and hold a certificate for being trained in EMDR.
You go to bed at night and wake up the next morning still feeling ashamed, stuck, and afraid of not being able to reach your utmost potential. You’re harder on yourself than with others who have similiar struggles. By changing your thought process and self talk, you are then able to take action. As your therapist, we will collaborate on becoming your own best friend by creating a path in finding balance between holding yourself accountable for your own actions and beating yourself up to the point of being immobilized and isolated. My passion is walking beside you and learning ways to embrace yourself in feeling positive change.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) trained and through EMDRIA at the EMDR Training Center in Austin, Texas, completion date November 2025.
Human suffering often stems from relationships—whether through betrayal, neglect, or emotional trauma—leaving lasting psychological scars. Yet, within these same relationships lies the power to heal. Contemporary psychology highlights how secure, supportive connections can reshape neural pathways, build resilience, and restore emotional health. Through cultivating trust and openness, individuals can reclaim their narratives, transforming pain into personal growth. I am deeply committed to offering compassionate, transformative support that empowers individuals to navigate adversity and cultivate emotional well-being.

Some of the theories I utilize include Existential, Person-Centered, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems.
Do you feel isolated, misunderstood, or stuck in patterns you can't quite explain? Maybe you've tried therapy before and felt like the person across from you was more focused on telling you what you think rather than actually hearing your story. I specialize in working with Anger Management, Men's Issues, and Trauma-particularly childhood trauma that continues to shape your adult life. I take a Person-Centered Approach, focusing on you, not a label. Together, we work toward self-understanding and acceptance to create lasting change so you can move beyond destructive patterns and live more authentically.

I am trained in EMDR and integrate IFS to help you reconnect with your core self and heal injured parts, so you can enjoy life more fully again
Life can be really hard. Trying to be a good person and live up to everyone’s ideals can be exhausting, especially when those expectations are contradictory. It’s normal to feel confused and frustrated when others don’t understand your perspective. This is often the case in high-performing careers, and in roles such as mother, wife, caretaker, or supportive friend. Sometimes we need support to re-orient ourselves after betrayal, illness, injury, death, separation, or divorce; or when people we thought were close are no longer on the same page. There is hope for finding inner strength, balance, and healthy boundaries.

Using EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, DBT, IFS, and ACT, I help clients build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and create lives that feel more aligned with their values.
At Kick in the Ass Counseling, clients aren't here for sugar-coated "mm-hmm, tell me more" bullshit. They're here because life has been heavy, confusing, overwhelming—or all of the above—and they're looking for a space where they'll actually be heard, seen, and met with honesty instead of fluff. I work with people who know something needs to change but feel stuck in patterns rooted in trauma, anxiety, relationships, or life experiences. My job is to help you safely approach the hard stuff, understand what's keeping you stuck, and create meaningful change that actually lasts.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
