Are you carrying pain that others can’t see. You may feel alone, stuck in cycles of anxiety, shame, or relationship struggles that keep repeating. Often these patterns begin in environments where emotional needs weren’t fully seen or supported, leaving you in survival mode, overthinking, shutting down, or doubting yourself. Therapy can be a space to understand these patterns with compassion rather than judgment. I help adults explore the roots of these experiences and reconnect with their sense of self so they can move toward greater clarity, balance, and authenticity. I am here to help you through this in a safe space.

Have you ever felt lost in the weight of grief, anxiety, depression, or trauma, wondering if you’ve forgotten your true value? Or perhaps the many responsibilities of daily life have made it difficult to keep you in the equation, causing you to push your own needs aside?
It's easy to lose sight of who you truly are when life gets overwhelming. But what if you could reconnect with your inner strength and recognize that your value is not defined by what you do or how much you give to others, but by the simple truth that you are enough as you are?

I also work with young adults and my approach is client-centered and attachment-based, meaning I prioritize creating a genuine, supportive relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and understood.
Sometimes what looks like behavior on the outside, is really a child asking for understanding on the inside. Often, children do not yet have the words to express what they're experiencing, and those big feelings typically show up through changes in behavior, relationships, and/or self-esteem. I believe all behavior is purposeful and utilize child-centered play therapy while striving to create a safe and accepting environment where children can freely express themselves, build emotional awareness, and make sense of the world around them. I work collaboratively to support further growth and healing for the client and family.

Being a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas for many years, I enjoy a collaborative type of therapy that allows an individual to find freedom through acceptance of their issues rather than running from the reality of their existence. As we come to understand our past and how it has shaped us, we can then begin the practice of choosing differently for ourselves in the present and for our future. This search is a sacred process where therapist and client join together, rather than a therapy done 'to' you as a client. I would like to join in that process with you!

I draw from attachment-based and psychodynamic approaches while integrating ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), mindfulness, and self-compassion practices to support emotional balance, resilience, healthier coping skills, and lasting change.
As life continues to shift, you may notice becoming more self-critical or struggling to feel “good enough.” Anxiety, OCD, self-doubt, relationship tension, or the lasting impact of emotionally unavailable caregivers can make it difficult to feel secure in yourself or your relationships. Together, we’ll explore how these experiences shape your patterns while building greater emotional security, self-worth, healthier relationships, and relief from anxiety and OCD.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
