Relationships provide a window to the heart of an individual like no other. Our closest relationships tend to reveal our most wounded places. Those hurts, if left unresolved, are carried forward and recast into our exiting patterns of relating. All our experiences, but most particularly our pain, become the filter through which we sift and construct our view of self, our approach to life, our capacity love and be loved, and our ability to trust.

My role as a counselor includes working with teens (14+) and adults. I also do a lot of work with parents and will incorporate family sessions as needed. I treat individuals struggling with life changes, low self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal thinking, behavioral problems at home and/or at school, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, trauma, social struggles, relationship struggles, family conflict, divorce, and depression. I utilize various counseling approaches based on each clients needs and goals, including Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused Therapy approaches.

I am a Therapist and have been providing mental health services for 9 years in outpatient and in home settings. I see Individuals and address ADHD, Adjustment disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder. My experience applies to a wide range of individuals, couples, and families varying in age, disability, and/or mental health disorder. I have experience helping children and adults manage areas such as: depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, family /relationship issues, ADHD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

Therapy should be an invitation for each client to reach full potential in coping with life's transitions or problems in a safe environment. As a licensed professional counselor, I provide a relaxing atmosphere for you to discover possible ways for you to enjoy your life while addressing important issues. My focus is working with adult individuals using a variety of counseling approaches according to each client's need.

A Safe Place Counseling provides private therapeutic interventions for relationship issues, marital couples, women issues teens and grief. It is my belief that each individual wants to create a better way of handling life situations that are beneficial to all involved. Through my experiences, people who face past and present negative experiences can move past them with the hope of a more emotionally and mentally healthy life with the tools that are provided. As individuals become more whole and healthy, so does the family and the community.

Life is often the most stressful when things are unpredictable and out of our control. So, it's not unusual, with the state of the world today, we might be feeling more stressed than we normally do. Things you've been able to cope with in the past you might be finding more difficult to handle. That's a normal response to a very abnormal situation. In times like this, we have to focus on what we can control and learn to cope with things we can't change. My role is to assist you in the process

Welcome to a space of renewal, healing and growth. Change is possible! I tailor treatment plans to the unique needs of each person, couple and family . I love meeting new clients and beginning the process of helping you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. I love working with ages 8-80. Kids between 6 and 8 are also welcome for screening for Autism. My practice is LGBT affirming and welcoming. I work very well with pre-teens and teens.

My goal as a clinician is to join you on your healing journey. During times of difficulty, it can feel as though we are walking through the swampland of our souls. My hope is to throw on some rain boots and take that trek with you! My therapeutic theory is that we as individuals are not defined by our struggles, but that we are whole, healthy individuals. It is important that we work collaboratively against these struggles and rediscover those whole and healthy identities. My particular areas of interest include eating disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
