I felt it was important to focus my specialization on working with children, because I believe it is important it is to build good mental health foundations at a young age.
My education and training are specialized in Play and Activity Therapy with children. As adults we have gained a wide vocabulary through our years of experience, but children do not have that same privilege. I use what children are most comfortable and familiar with, play! I work at the developmental level of the child to allow for positive self-direction.

As a Registered Play Therapist, I have a passion of working with young children (ages 3+) utilizing the power of play to allow children to process through challenges and experiences and to learn and practice new skills.
Regardless of age, I typically operate from the client-centered perspective in which I believe that you are the expert of you and that with support, encouragement, and guidance you are able to determine what fits best for your life and your situation. Essentially, I do not follow a one size fits all approach and understand that we are all unique.

HABLO ESPANOL! My story is a bit unique as to how I became a psychotherapist. I studied abroad in Costa Rica during college where I learned the Spanish language and where my love of adventure and exploration began. After moving to Los Angeles for several years, I decided to then move to New York City to pursue a career in music which is my first love. I was living in NYC and working for Sony Music on September 11, 2001 which changed my life dramatically. I decided to return to The University of Texas in Austin and obtained my Masters in Social Work in an effort to pursue a career in helping others which is my second love.
