I work with clients during their most vulnerable times, especially men and women struggling with eating disorders. As well as struggling with chronic illness, life changes, divorce, and traumas. I can help you discover healing, strength, and hope in whatever difficult circumstances you're in and have been through. Frequently, we are so worried about taking care of others and feel guilty about taking care of ourselves, but you are worthy of investing in yourself! I would love to work with you. For transparency, I am a Christian and can offer Christian counseling and/or incorporate a faith-based approach.

Grappling with depression, stuck in addiction, or home when you'd rather be independent? Living with the echoes of an unhappy or abusive childhood? Noticing you feel anxious and tired on a daily basis and can't figure out why, or can't seem to connect with others the way you'd like? Maybe you're not even sure what to call what you feel, but you'd really like to change it and find a way to feel like yourself again. None of these issues are pleasant, but we can work on them together. As a counselor working with complex combinations of addictions and mental health issues, I offer genuine caring and acceptance as you learn and heal.

These are the treatment types I use: CBT for changing thought patterns, Gestalt for self-awareness and growth, Reality/Choice therapy for taking control of your life, and Brainspotting for deeper emotional processing.
Are you navigating a major life transition? Starting college, switching careers, or stepping away from competitive sports? Maybe you're a BIPOC athlete feeling isolated in your sport, or you're struggling with performance anxiety that's affecting more than just your game. You want to build genuine confidence, improve your relationships, and find healthier ways to cope with pressure. You're ready to be challenged and grow, but you need someone who truly gets your unique experience and won't just give you generic advice.

That’s why I use a combination of EMDR and Brainspotting to help your brain and body actually resolve what happened.
Trauma isn’t just something that happened to you. It’s the stories your body still carries that shape how you relate to yourself and others. The choices you’ve made to survive aren’t failures; they’re adaptations that once kept you safe. You’re working with behaviors that once served a purpose, even if they’re no longer helping. Together, we’ll look at what those patterns are trying to protect or provide for you, and we’ll identify more effective ways to meet those needs so you can move forward.

Perhaps you’re at a point where you are frustrated and tired of starting over with a new therapist. You’re tired of telling your story over and over again and not experiencing any relief. You’re tired of taking all these medications and being numb. And you’re tired of your past trauma disrupting your everyday life. Perhaps you’re wondering if you’re ever going to heal and feel better. You CAN heal. The therapist’s job is to help facilitate the healing process that lies within you. To heal from trauma, you don’t have to talk about the details of what has happened to you (unless you find it helpful).

I often use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting & parts work to ease anxiety, grief, and past trauma.
You know that saying “Never judge a book by its cover”? Well, I can honestly say that the cover of my book does not match the pages! The pages in my book of life have equipped me with the experience to connect with ALL people. In my book, I’ve encountered many conflicts. I’ve been the antagonist and the protagonist and I’m just in the rising action. Because my pages are not all filled with butterflies and sunshine, I’ve had to work to find ways to help equip myself with daily coping skills. I am happy to be in a position to share my experience with others through therapy and educational opportunities.

Being a caretaker comes with numerous demands that can be quite challenging. Managing responsibilities can be overwhelming and can lead to increased stress across all areas of your life. Providing care for others can lead to burnout, which in turn can cause you to experience feelings of depression and anxiety.. Many caregivers tend to overlook their own personal needs, leading to a worsening of their symptoms.

Do you assist and serve others as a therapist, healthcare provider, teacher, or family caregiver? Perhaps, you’re feeling overwhelmed and your once fulfilling work is starting to lose meaning and purpose. The world is often full of unexpected events. Even with the best-laid plans, these events can lead to struggles. While it’s a gift to care for others during difficult times, it can leave us drained, off balance, and feeling alone. You are a dedicated caregiver to others. Is it time to give yourself that care, as well?

If you call me, please leave a voicemail so I know you are not a robot and I can call you back. I work on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I love working with adults who are craving real, authentic connection in therapy. My space is intentionally queer-affirming, nonjudgmental, and rooted in curiosity — a place where you can show up as your whole self, however that looks, and explore your thoughts, feelings, patterns, and lived experiences without fear of shame, rejection, or the need to explain your identity.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
