You might be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you—whether that’s in your relationships, family, or sense of self. Maybe past trauma still shows up in unexpected ways, or communication keeps breaking down with the people you care about most. You want relief, clarity, and change, but you also want to feel understood rather than judged. You’re looking for a therapist who is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded—someone who can help you make sense of your experiences and move toward more meaningful, connected ways of living.

People who seek therapy are the sanest of us all. They look around at their lives and they realize that they want something better and they have the courage to go out and get it.

It’s been a rough few years, hasn’t it? Or maybe challenging times go way further back than that for you. You’re carrying the weight of a painful childhood, or trying to navigate a world that doesn’t welcome your authentic self. You feel frazzled and frantic….or maybe you’re so numb and shut down that it’s hard to connect with others—and your relationship with yourself is suffering too. You want to shed the shame you’re tired of lugging around, feel comfortable in your own skin, and show up more present in your own life. (Please note that I am not currently accepting clients or adding to my waitlist at this time.)

I am a warm, compassionate therapist dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe that healing begins with connection, and I strive to build authentic, collaborative relationships with each person I work with. I have a particular interest in supporting teachers and other professionals experiencing occupational burnout. The emotional demands of caregiving and service-oriented roles can be overwhelming, and I work alongside clients to restore balance, clarify values, and reconnect with purpose. I also work with individuals exploring gender identity and related concerns.

I have worked with women's issues, aging-related concerns, life transitions, LGBTQ+, depression, anxiety, first-generation, and more.
The way you view the world is specifically unique to you. Similarly, the way you ask questions, seek answers, and find hope is distinctly your own. As your counselor, changing your worldview is not the approach I take. Instead, I work alongside you to better understand it, create space for your curiosity, find resilience, and to navigate life's challenges. Showing up as you are can be intimidating, but know that you are welcomed.

Trauma, women's issues, anxiety , Latinx culture and mental health
Navigating the mental health world and finding a good therapist can be challenging, especially when you are trying to find someone that gets you and acknowledges your culture and background. I commend you for taking the first step in your healing journey. Do some of these sound familiar? You recognize the importance of healing generational trauma; you want to enjoy the present-moment however, your mind gets stuck in the past or the future; you want to create meaningful connections, but you end up sabotaging your relationships; you want to embrace your culture and traditions while recognizing unhealthy generational patterns.

Warm regards to you! You may be at a place where challenges in life just seem to be too much for you to handle alone. Many people come to counseling and find help to deal more powerfully with the challenges of life. Many situations, emotions and patterns of self-defeating behavior prevent people from living a happy, productive, and satisfying life. Some of these behaviors are in our awareness; while others are not obvious to us. The goal of counseling is to help increase self-awareness, for you to find your best way to function and thrive!

I work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety or trauma related to their relationships or family history. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand. I do this by helping you identify the areas of your life that need some work through insight, identifying patterns that are no longer working even if they did a wonderful job of helping you survive in the past, reworking emotional responses that no longer align with your current values or just being there supporting you as you process difficult emotions.

Starting therapy can take courage, especially if you’ve felt misunderstood, judged, or unsupported in the past. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are — a place that feels safe, affirming, and genuinely supportive. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ folks, women, and anyone navigating the impacts of trauma, identity-based stress, or systems that haven’t always made space for them.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
