Is past trauma making it hard to move forward? I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by trauma, chronic stress, or major life transitions. Many of my clients are military service members or veterans, though I also support adults who have experienced trauma from other life experiences. Together, we create a safe and collaborative space where you can process what you’ve been through, strengthen coping skills, and begin moving toward meaningful change.

I trained at the Tavistock Clinic in London to offer psychodynamic therapy to people struggling with perfectionism, people pleasing, high-functioning anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed.
Our work will focus on making sense of unconscious motivations and patterns within yourself, your life, and your relationships. This insight facilitates lasting and impactful change. We will explore old dynamics that get repeated and keep you stuck, and identify alternative ways of navigating difficulties that align with your values and goals.

Birth of a child? Transition at work? A move? Loss of a loved one? You may feel anxious, lonely, or overwhelmed when trying to understand your purpose. I use an integrative approach combining narrative therapy, expressive arts, mindfulness, psychodynamic work, and person-centered techniques.
Are you navigating the complexities of multiple identities? Caught between cultures, expectations, and who you're becoming? Maybe you're the child of immigrants feeling pulled between honoring your family and honoring yourself, or you're exploring your gender identity or sexuality while managing what others expect. You might be creative, introspective, and ready for change, but overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, or the weight of roles you never asked to carry. You want a therapist who understands the nuances of your lived experience—someone who won't make you explain what it's like to exist in spaces that weren't built for you.

My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered and psychodynamic, supporting both immediate relief and deeper insight for lasting change.
If you are a parent feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or having intrusive thoughts you did not expect, you’re not alone. Many parents are surprised by how intense this season can feel, especially after a loss, trauma, or major life transition. You might find yourself on edge, emotionally numb, irritable, or disconnected from yourself or the people you love. You may feel guilt for not enjoying this stage the way you thought you would, or wonder why everything feels harder than it should.

In practice I use a pragmatic, results-oriented approach and am not tethered to one behavioral health modality. Rather, recognizing each patient has unique needs, I draw from many therapeutic approaches that best fit each patient. In my practice, I can quickly assess which techniques will work best to meet each client's individual needs to show patients that they can have the right tools to reach their optimal comfort level in their careers, families, and relationships. The goal is bridging the gap and finding the most productive pathway between where clients are and where they want to be.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
