I provide Adult Supportive, Strengths based counseling for coping with daily life adjustment issues and trauma focused therapy (EMDR) for sexual assault, PTSD, and early childhood trauma and related issues. I also treat depression, and anxiety.I have worked the past 5 years locally up and down river and I'm familiar with local culture.

I have been a clinician for over 15 years. I am patient centered, and I genuinely care about my clients. I use Teletherapy to treat PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, etc; with a variety of techniques, including EMDR.

When you've been walking along in life, doing the best you can, and it seems your best is never good enough. You're either letting yourself down or disappointing someone you care about. Regardless, the things around you just aren't going like they're supposed to. There's a statement that goes "not bad enough to leave, and not good enough to stay." Life isn't horrible and it's not great, it's just meh. And you're getting kind of tired of meh.

Some research states that the average couple will wait up to 6 years AFTER noticing something is wrong in their marriage before seeking help. So congratulations if you are seeking help before that! Individuals come to me for a variety of problems; most often to improve the quality of their life and get relief from nagging self-doubt, anxiety, depression and emotional distress due to life changes and loss. I come to PHW (located in Red Bluff) with a knowledge of trauma-based therapy and interventions for depression, anxiety, self-esteem and other emotional health issues. All the little things add up and sometimes it feels like you're drowning in petty things; creating stress, overwhelm, and panic. Other times it makes you want to shut down and shut everything out. You believe you should be able to handle all these little things because each thing isn't really that big; and yet, you feel weak and disappointed in yourself that these "little things" are tripping you up. I'm here to tell you that you don't have to live a life of "death by a thousand cuts." Your response is normal. It's a normal response to a crazy amount of tiny things, but it's not helping. You need new tools and strategies to heal.

Every individual is aware of their personal needs in life and is on a quest to get them met. Internal and external roadblocks can hinder this process and produce negative emotional and mental states of being. My job is to get to the root cause of this distress by identifying the unmet needs, the roadblocks, and the process of meeting those needs that is currently not working. We then work on removing the roadblocks and replacing the method of getting those needs met with one that works and produces harmony with all of those involved.

Greetings! I'm Chera, and I have focused the scope of my private practice on three very specialized (and desperately underserved) groups at high risk of suicidality within our community. Since grad school in 2011, I have been treating people with gender dysphoria, in 2016 I began helping our veterans/military with PsychArmor training, and recently I earned my certification as a first responder counselor and peer support team leader/trainer to provide crisis, cumulative trauma, and emotional agility training for our first responders.
