As a therapist, I help clients navigate the process of change in a caring and supportive environment. I believe counseling is an opportunity for healing and growth, for ourselves and our relationships. Throughout our lives we all have experiences that shape who we are and how we view the world. These experiences impact us in both positive and negative ways. Understanding how the past informs our present can empower us to make changes towards a more authentic future.

My counseling approach is to first help you clarify your presenting problems from an integrated mind-body-environment perspective. I utilize mindfulness to help you to develop clarity in the present moment, and art therapy and focusing-oriented psychotherapy to help you explore and embrace your inner wisdom and natural capacity for healing. Through CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), we can compose an action plan together to develop new coping skills and better support your recovery. When working with children, I utilize art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness approaches, children focusing techniques, and sensory integration concepts from my occupational therapy experience.

Kasia Hoskins, MA, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a broad range of experience having worked both in community mental health settings as well as private practice. Kasia graduated in 2008 from Antioch University, Seattle, with a specialization in a child, couples, and family therapy. She has been licensed in her field since 2012. Kasia is passionate about assisting clients of all ages in the process of growth and change. She believes that therapy offers a unique opportunity to feel supported, and at the same time challenged in creating a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

Arista Dechant, LMHC, was born and raised in Kansas, where she attended Fort Hays State University. She graduated in 2011 with a master’s degree (MA) in counseling and earned a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Ms. Dechant has treated both youth and adults experiencing complex mood, behavioral challenges, including depression, anxiety, eating, and personality disorders. In addition, she has received forensic training at the Center of Counseling and Consultation (training in administering psychological evaluations, parenting and custody evaluations, as well as competency evaluations for Barton County Superior Court).

My primary goal as a psychologist is to help the client work towards reducing their suffering and enhancing their health and resiliency. I work with adults that may be experiencing a variety of challenges including increased stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, and trauma recovery. I provide psychological assessments for a variety of complaints, and ground my counseling work in scientific, evidence-based interventions such as Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnosis training, and various mindfulness-based interventions.

Amanda L. Harmon, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor. She graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a MA in Counseling, specializing in the fields of mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy. Amanda is a certified Mental Health Specialist and Child Mental Health Specialist, and has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a focus on Trauma Focused-CBT and childhood traumatic grief through Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist trained to provide psychological assessment and therapy for individuals struggling with chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, neurocognitive impairment, learning disabilities, eating disorders, trauma, and adjustment disorders. I utilize empirically-supported testing and clinical interviewing techniques to provide thorough psychological assessments and differential diagnoses. My treatment approach is grounded in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I use evidence-based mindfulness exercises, cognitive-behavior therapy, and biofeedback training to help clients gain increasing awareness of their vulnerabilities and strengths. Clients change by learning to monitor and redirect dysfunctional thoughts before they manifest into undesirable behavior.

Nuri Kahn, DBH, LMFT, MHP is the clinical director of NW Family Psychology – Bainbridge Island. Dr. Kahn provides psychotherapy and other behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults seeking treatment for a wide range of clinical issues including anxiety, depression, impulse control, phobias, somatoform disorders, trauma, adjustment challenges, relationship discord and behavioral disorders. Dr. Kahn also specializes in behavioral health interventions for patients struggling with a variety of stressors including chronic illness, pain management, insomnia/fatigue, and health-related anxieties.

Leticia Holleman, LICSW, is a licensed independent social worker, as well as a Counseling Psychology (Psy.D.) doctoral student at NW University in Kirkland in her fourth year of training. She earned her Bachelor of Social Science degree from University of Maryland in 2009 and worked at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, focused on treatment models to support adolescents struggling with depression, addiction, and obesity. She has worked with individuals presenting with emotional and behavioral challenges, personality disorders, neurologically-based challenges and chemical dependency across a variety of settings.

Madeleine Cushman, MA, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor who specializes in counseling for very young children (toddlers/early child years). Ms. Cushman has particular expertise in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), child trauma, anti-bullying, and counseling children experiencing high conflict in their families. Ms. Cushman is a graduate of Boston College and has maintained her practice providing these services to children and their families, and utilizes a cognitive-behavioral and play therapy approach with her clients.

Angela Lujan, LMHC, CMHS, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist. Angela has worked over the last several years with children/teens/young adults and their families, helping navigate relational hardships and conflicts. Angela is particularly drawn to working with youth and adults who struggle with interpersonal relationships, bullying, self-image issues, anxiety, depression, self-harm, grief and loss, trauma, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, concerns with school performance, and various other emotional and behavioral challenges.
