Maybe you have to try harder than you'd like to get people to see you as you are, and maybe no matter how hard you try, they still don't see you.
Sometimes finding your place in the gray areas between extremes can be difficult and frightening. Society loves binaries, so finding yourself fitting into neither or both categories can feel lonely, especially when people around you don't seem to understand. As a non-binary transmasculine East Texan, I quite understand.
