About
Children, teens, and young adults struggling with anxiety and difficult life transitions know that it can feel overwhelming, stressful and may feel worried that no one will understand how they feel. This may affect friendships, relationships with family members, school and work experiences, and many other areas of life. Therapy can help decrease anxiety and worries by teaching new coping skills to better manage anxiety and stress. This can lead to feeling a greater sense of self control, happiness and well being.
As an art therapist and counselor I use a combination of art making and talking to help people. People who work with me can make art with me while we talk and many find that this takes a lot of pressure off of what is being said and may instantly feel more comfortable in therapy. Art making is not only fun, but it can also give us a new perspective.
It can be really difficult to be a young person with anxiety, it can be even more difficult watching your own child or loved one struggle. Each person is unique and has their own needs so therapy is tailored to the individual. If you would like to learn more about how art therapy and counseling can help please feel free to reach out to me.
