l am privileged to work with people who strive to live more fulfilling lives. Usually people come to therapy to move beyond suffering to a more enjoyable future. I am enlisted as an ally to help understand the internal and external barriers to happiness. I focus on each persons unique talents and personal values to create action plans for arriving at the most immediate improvement. Most of my clients have struggled with depression and anxiety, trauma or addictions and want to find new ways to experience their lives. Mood and memory challenges are addressed with the latest research based techniques and compassion.
I have been a group, individual and family therapist during my 25 years counseling. I have created programs for women's issues, trauma, dual diagnosis and chemical dependency. I practice body/mind integrated approaches which view the person in a holistic way. The methods used produce more substantial results than talk therapy alone.
Specialized assessment instruments allow each person to see themselves, their skills and challenges in new ways. This enables cultivation of a wide range of coping skills and adaptations. Relationships will be assessed in terms of compatibility of values and temperaments, traits and habits. Communication skills will be optimized to best serve couples and families.
