I believe clients are their own expert, and that with my guidance they can explore and challenge their own deeply imbedded inner core beliefs, and re-engineer them. Learning and speaking the client's language is tantamount to helping someone move forward towards a positive change. Clients begin to understand themselves better, and this allows the transition. I also believe that fear is one of the most debilitating emotions that we can have. It stops us dead in our tracks. We need to attack the fear, but first understand its roots. I like to be known as my client's "life coach!"
CBT challenges irrational beliefs and re-engineers those core beliefs that we carry around. This works with couples well. Many times married and unmarried people come to me with 'maturity' issues. We tackle those head-on! I sell "love," and love my work!" Auto accident victims benefit greatly from CBT!
I consider myself a feelings expert. Many issues flow from a sense of comfort & safety clients feel in my presence.
