With over 30 years as an EMDR therapist and 24 years as a teacher, I am the most experienced therapist offering EMDR services in WNC.This makes me uniquely qualified to work with personal and relational trauma. I am also trained in a variety of therapy disciplines effective for children, adults and couples. In 2004, I was recognized by NCAMFT and given an award for Outstanding Contributions In Marriage and Family Therapy. I was a Relationship Columnist who wrote for the Western Carolina Parenting Magazine. My seminary background enables me to offer a faith based perspective to those from a multitude of spiritual backgrounds.
I am credentialed as the first EMDR Therapist and EMDR Consultant in WNC. I train within the EMDR Institute and EMDRIA. I am the Coordinator of the first EMDRIA Chapter in WNC. I am the oldest and most experienced EMDR Therapist in WNC. Other specialtes are Family Systems , Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy
My practice is very pro marriage and family resulting in less than 10% of couple's therapy resulting in divorce.As to children, I use the latest in play therapy equipment to successfully involve children resistent to therapy. Scheduled hours can be set to meet the needs of your job and family.
