About
My approach to counseling is holistic and based on the client's needs. I use methodology from humanistic psychology, person-centered therapy, psychodynamic theory and cognitive behavioral therapy. I help clients identify hidden strengths and discover obstacles to a more meaningful life. I work with the client on building an authentic therapeutic relationship where the client is seen as the expert in her/his own life. I do this in a compassionate, safe, and nonjudgmental process. I am effective in working with people who seek short-term, solution-focused therapy as well as longer-term therapeutic goals.
I work with adults on self-worth, life transitions, codependency, trauma, loss, anxiety, depression and addiction. I have a master’s degree and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor. In addition to private practice, my experience includes work in a psychiatric hospital, a crisis stabilization facility and in-patient and IOP treatment settings.
I work in a collaborative practice with a nutritionist, an acupuncturist, and a psychiatrist. My clients benefit from my ability to provide effective and collaborative treatment in a peaceful office conveniently located in Mid-City, New Orleans.
