Hello! My name is Tara OHare. I have over 15 years' of clinical experience in the mental health field. I provide psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, as well as co-parenting therapy for separated and divorced parents. I treat children, adolescents, & adults. I'm experienced in treating a multitude of mental, emotional, and behavioral problems, which include anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma, addiction, & adjustment disorders. I have extensive experience in the areas of divorce, social anxiety, self-harm ("cutting"), problems w/ communication & assertiveness, as well as issues related to remarriage & stepfamilies.
Aside from traditional therapy, a great deal of my private practice work has been in Forensics. I specialize in the assessment & treatment of children and families engaged in high-conflict divorce, including cases involving parental alienation. I provide Reunification Therapy for severed parent/child relationships and other cases of family estrangement.
I've been qualified by the NYS Supreme & Family Court as an expert witness in the areas of child custody & visitation, abuse/neglect, child therapy, TPR cases, and parental fitness. I've served as the Court's neutral evaluator in these cases, providing recommendations via report and/or testimony….Please note: All child therapy sessions are in-person only.
