Realizing and building upon inner strengths - and courageously working through difficulties within the safety of a therapeutic relationship - are important to this process. I work in a primarily psychodynamic, integrative way based upon each person's individual needs and goals, whether related to relationships, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, identity, life transitions, somatic symptoms, ADHD, problematic or self-defeating behaviors, or other issues.

In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I offer qEEG, which helps to diagnose and predict cognitive issues based on neurologically distinct brain activity, as well as Neurofeedback to successfully target those areas in the brain identified by the qEEG as dysregulated, resulting in reduction of symptoms and increase in optimal functioning.

MGR Wellness is comprised of two Licensed Professional Counselors, George Rehkamp and Marisa Mastrianno. We offer individual, family and couples counseling sessions for all ages. We provide support for those coping with anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use and relational issues. In an effort to better serve our clients in addition to face to face counseling we also offer Telehealth services. Shirley Gedney-Rubel is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut. Shirley has about 10 years of experience assisting adults with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, domestic violence, eating disorders, life transitions, and women’s issues. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Bridgeport.
