Making the decision on which therapist to work with is based on many factors. Perhaps the most important factor is finding someone you are comfortable with so they can be of help. My goal in working with clients is to start by establishing a nonjudgmental, yet honest, relationship that is supportive enough to explore topics and gain insight into issues most relevant to them. I have experience working with clients from all backgrounds with a variety of difficulties, including relationship issues, life transitions, depression, identity struggles, anxiety, and grief.
In my years of work in a hospital setting at UT Southwestern Medical Center., I gained expertise in managing medical issues including chronic pain and adjustment to illness which involves mindfulness/behavioral interventions. More importantly, my own therapy has allowed me to understand your experience as a client and how to be most helpful.
