My name is Travis Hyke, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California. I strive to be collaborative, empowering, and candid in all my therapeutic relationships. I believe working with someone is about creating a safe space to learn how to reconnect with your authentic self, explore the dynamics of your life and your relationships, and practice new ways of being that restore balance, peace, and fulfillment in your life. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy in my approach which generally includes the assignment of homework assignments and in-the-moment development of coping skills.
Travis specializes in working with emerging adults, older adolescents, and adults with addictive behaviors and problematic substance use, difficulties with anxiety with particular emphasis on social anxiety, social interaction difficulties, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, difficulties in relationships, and ADHD
Collaboratively, I will always provide suggestions and share my conceptualization of the issues at hand with my clients, and they ultimately choose which goals and issues they want to work on. I am generally relaxed, calm, and assertive in my communication style. I will address issues in a direct and gentle manner and value authenticity to the self.
