Congratulations on taking the first step on your journey of making a positive change in your life! Finding the right therapist can be a difficult and stressful process. I firmly believe that anyone can benefit from therapy. One of my goals is to make this as smooth of an experience as possible. Over the years, I have loved seeing the progress my clients have made in counseling, and have felt honored that they have included me in that journey with them. I try to incorporate a non-judgmental and comfortable environment for clients to be able to express themselves at their own pace.
I have worked on a Suicide Prevention Hotline and Mobile Crisis Team. While in graduate school, I was part of a counseling services team offered in a local Hospice Care Facility. I also have worked in several outpatient settings with clients having a variety of presenting problems, as well as various age ranges. I now continue this work in my practice.
I feel that trauma is all around us in our society. To help combat this, I have been trained in EMDR therapy. I have found the results in my work with clients using this modality of treatment to be astounding. I love to be able to bring this model into sessions with clients and see the progress that can be made.
