I am the clinical director and president of Sugar Land Neuropsychology where I provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of older adults with a wide array of concerns including dementia, traumatic brain injuries, and other medical disorders which can affect memory. I provide diagnostic testing and assessments for age-related neurocognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), etc.

I have experience working with a wide variety of life problems and mental health disorders, but my primary interests include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), academic issues, panic/phobias, anger management, addiction, couples, marriage, and family relationship issues.

My name is Cristina Lima and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Board Certified in Neurofeedback. I have a PhD in Counseling. Besides my educational background, I have more than 23 years of professional counseling practice. I'm not even counting the several years of informal "counseling" with adults and teenagers that would request a ''moment of my time'' to discuss their personal issues - prior to even graduating from my bachelor's in psychology! Helping others is a passion that I have carried along for years - and keeps growing in me as I grow in my profession.

Research has shown you can link these symptoms to specific brain regions and train the brain to function more effectively. Optimize Mind Care specializes in QEEG ("brain mapping") and Neurofeedback ("brain training" or EEG biofeedback). These methods are brain-based techniques that create a treatment approach based on biology and a patient's symptoms, instead of symptoms alone, in order to address the root cause.
