The hardest part about therapy is having to deal with those thoughts, feelings, and memories we've been pushing aside for so long. What makes it even harder, are our fears of being judged for who we are, what we've gone through, or how we've acted. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being your true self. I do this by showing you genuine compassion, empathy, and understanding as we work through the tougher stuff. As such, I work with children, teens, families, and adults whose social, academic/work, behavioral, physical, and/or emotional well-being has been negatively impacted by ongoing mental health struggles.

I utilize a structured approach to aide in the recovery and development of families, couples, and individuals struggling with concerns such as suicide, anxiety and depression, trauma, and a multitude of life's worries. I enjoy accompanying clients as they take this journey of healing and offering a differing frame of mind utilizing empiric and grounded techniques. I understand the multitude of life experiences of clients and value the empathy and positive regard needed to spark resilience and growth within them, while developing a safe space and fostering a strong therapeutic alliance.

I have learned throughout my career that being a compassionate listener is a very powerful tool to use, as I walk along side my clients on their life path. I strive to help you reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as develop confidence in ability to manage symptoms. Through therapy we will work together to identify your desired outcome of therapy and develop a plan to help you reach those goals. I specialize in working with individuals with generalized anxiety disorder, trauma and PTSD, issues related to gender identity, and depression. I have completed additional training regarding working with transgender and gender non-conforming clients, multicultural counseling, and trauma-informed care.

I've had the honor of working with people with a history of trauma throughout my life. PTSD, attachment disorder and dissociative disorders are normal responses to being exposed to Traumatic events. This is the way our brains try to protect us from being overwhelmed. We can get stuck feeling like the world is dangerous or the events are still occuring long after the trauma is over.
