I love helping couples who are longing for connection with their partner but feel stuck and just want to give up. I help awaken people and teach them to operate in a whole new, healthy, functional way from what they could imagine! I use RLT, or Relational Life Therapy. This approach works, and it's so effective that change happens rapidly if you are yearning for better more loving connections and communication with your loved one. Also, I help people with anxiety and depression, and adjustment issues. There are over 50 tools and methods that I use with T.E.A.M. CBT if you are ready to roll up your sleeves and start making changes.

Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can control how we respond to certain situations. In many ways, being human is our biggest challenge. We have complex thought processes, feelings, and practices of reacting to the world we live in. Therefore, our personal experiences and ways of relating to our world are difficult to understand - even by ourselves! Welcome! I'm a Spanish speaking therapist and I specialize in working with children (in English) who have difficulty controlling their big emotions (anger, anxiety, sadness) and caregivers (in English or Spanish) who feel overwhelmed with their children's challenging behaviors. I also work with children adapting to life changes such as divorce and family relationship issues. I help my clients understand their triggers and learn new coping skills that help them feel healthier and more confident.

I work with professionals experiencing challenges maintaining a balanced work-life equilibrium and with emotional health imbalances stemming from the demanding nature of their professional life. My clients feel persistent worry, a pervasive sense of overwhelm, mood disturbances, strained interpersonal relationships, and/or a pronounced lack of self-care. They experience anxiety and depression, worsened by their demanding careers. Their goal is to regain control over their emotional state, manage stress, and nurture their overall well-being. Their motivation is to alleviate suffering, mend relationships, and prioritize self-care.

My ideal client wants a better understanding of what is happening within self. They want to develop self-awareness and self-compassion. Through foundational pieces of self-awareness and self-compassion, client will be guided through core believes, distortions, and boundary work. These techniques increase ability to know their personal needs and communicate those.

I am best suited to adults and teens who are struggling with stress, work and family issues, personal challenges and past trauma resolution. My approach to counseling includes creative methods to keep my clients engaged, goal setting and strength based techniques that empower the individual. Clients who really want to see results and are prepared to partner with their therapist will definitely see overall change as we work together to address their concerns.

As an LPC and EMDR Certified Therapist, it is my goal to assist clients in addressing mental health and behavior issues that may be preventing them from living the life they desire. I provide a warm, collaborative, and safe environment that encourages the client to be in control of the focus and direction of therapy. I use a variety of approaches, but primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR to help clients identify and challenge negative thought and behavior patterns, as well as reprocess past trauma. I have worked in in-patient and out-patient settings with clients of all ages, including children, teens, and adults.

I would like to share with you a bit about me I am a bilingual. My specialties are primarily on addictions, co-occurring disorders and codependency. I have worked in the past with mental health disorders such as Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Bipolar and Schizophrenia. I have recently also started to work with trauma. As a therapist I have learned that mental health is beautiful piece of art made of many different elements and details.

As a first-generation Mexican-American, I am sensitive to the multi-cultural needs of my clients. I am fluent in Spanish and English and able to effectively provide therapy in the language in which the individual is most comfortable, in doing so, their goals have a higher probability of being achieved. My clinical experience has provided me with the abilities to work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues related to trauma, depression, stress management, grief, parental support, and substance use.
