I care about you and want to help! I am a licensed professional counselor and nationally certified counselor who has experience counseling individuals coping with a variety of life challenges. Some of my areas of focus include: Addiction, adolescence, anxiety, depression, geriatrics, infertility, life transition, loss and grief, physical disability, self esteem, and trauma.

My name is Christelle Candelario, I am a board-certified Masters level therapist and a Certified Trauma Professional. I have experience working with those with anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and many other conditions at a variety of ages and life stages.

Welcome! As a therapist my goal is to create a non-judgmental and supportive space where it feels safe to explore and grow. I have extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and relational trauma (domestic violence, childhood abuse) as well as a strong understanding of narcissistic abuse and codependency. I also work with individuals that may be experiencing anxiety, depression, and OCD as well as life stress from difficult loss or transitions. My therapeutic approach integrates a psychodynamic and interpersonal framework along with some elements of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CF-CBT).

I have experience working in Community-Based, Outpatient, and hospital mental health settings as a licensed professional counselor. I am currently at Eastern University for a Doctor of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy studies for a further degree. I have a passion for working with teens, adults, and older adults to assist them in developing and finding healthy coping skills when dealing with stressors, including life transitions. My areas of expertise and special interest include depression, anxiety, coping skills, interpersonal conflict, racial identity, and stress management.

Kids and teenagers encounter new challenges every day. School, sports, activities, and family dynamics can lead to anxiety, stress, and even depression. They may feel overwhelmed and struggle to talk about what is going on. They may be scared, feel embarrassed, or feel unsure of who to talk about what they are feeling. You may have noticed changes in their behavior or mood as a result. I work with kids, teenagers, and families to identify and gain understanding of what has led to their struggles and collaboratively work on how to move forward. Lois supports adults struggling to connect with others, establish healthy boundaries, or communicate within their current relationships due to early childhood trauma. She utilizes a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens to support clients with unconditional regard and occasional humor. Based upon a client’s needs and preferences, her clinical orientation can include a blend of AEDP, family systems, trauma-healing, strengths-based, and narrative therapy. Lois strives to provide a loving "no judgement zone" for clients to pursue their healing. She serves as a cheerleader in her clients' journey towards NEW hope and resilience.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacific Graduate School of Professional Psychology-Palo Alto.
