I am a bilingual, bicultural, second-generation Chicana with over ten years of experience working with diverse individuals, families, and communities. I provide individual therapy to adults 18+ and family therapy to adult children and their parents/relatives. I focus my practice on Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC). I am particularly interested in working with children of immigrants, immigrants, and members of the fat and LGBTQ+ communities. As a cis woman, I am committed to creating a safe therapeutic space for this community, especially Queer & Trans Black, Indigenous & People of Color (QTBIPOC).

I am a Latina, Cis-female (she/her/ella). My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe therapeutic space for individuals of any background to process and heal without judgment. I work with all identities, but am especially passionate about working with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse populations. I'm quite sarcastic, laidback, incorporate humor as appropriate into therapy, do not use a lot of clinical jargon, and feel that it is important to build a solid therapeutic relationship with trust, honesty, and support.

I've worked with a myriad of clients and patients over the 26-year course of my social work career. I went back to grad school in 2015 to pursue my MSW and completed that in 2018 and my journey to become a therapist continues. I love working in a small private practice setting and the environment has nurtured my creativity and curiosity as a therapist which has allowed me to bring my own flare to the scope of my practice. I have an affinity for BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma throughout their lifetime. I'm poly-and-other-relationship-types friendly.

Numa Psychotherapy offers individual and relational psychotherapy to adolescents (12+) and adults. While each therapist at Numa has their own style, we generally focus on long-term, depth-oriented therapy. Our clinicians have significant experience working with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, neurodivergence, OCD, life transitions, and identity development/concerns (gender, sexuality, race, etc.). We prioritize the client's goals and objectives and are committed to helping each client live a life that's consistent with their values.

I currently have a waitlist. I value authenticity and candor in my work with clients, and enjoy "real talk." My typical client would say they’re a high achiever, “successful” on paper, and struggle with symptoms of anxiety, perfectionism, depression, low self esteem, or challenges with relationships and boundaries. I work with individuals who have a history of relational trauma or injury, grief and loss, or are navigating life transitions or changes. I work with couples who are dealing with distress within their relationships, difficulty communicating, or are looking to deepen their emotional bond.

I am a Latinx bilingual licensed psychologist dedicated to supporting people from diverse cultural and economic background as they cultivate their own resilience building practices. I use my experience working with patients to determine how to best facilitate the development of a healthy mind/body. The human psyche is beautifully complicated. It can create for us moments of exhilarating joy and excruciating pain. The key to maximize joy and minimize pain is very different for each individual. It is important to have a wide range of resilience building practices to draw from in order to create individualized self-care plans.

Authentic Roots Therapy is a mental health collaborative where licensed professionals provide individual, couple, & family mental health therapy in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I earned a MA in Counseling Psychology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and a BA in Psychology from the University of MN - Twin Cities. I'm currently pursuing LPCC licensure. I specialize in harm reduction/risk reduction, strength-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. I provide safe, healing, and restorative supportive care to people living with HIV and/or AIDs. My being a part of the continuum of care allows for the elimination of stigma and disease, and the optimization of the lives of people affected by HIV.

Life is one big challenge. Therapy is about support for movement and change. I have been trained and/or certified in therapies that work with the brain and body in ways that are giving people a new lease on life. Every day clients are finding they can feel new, different, 'cleaned out', balanced, and with new energy and ability to move forward.

I am sensitive to the ways your past experiences & future anxieties impact your present. When traumatic events or unexpressed feelings are left unattended we can become identified with these states and depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship problems and self-sabotage can arise. It can be difficult to make changes & overcome obstacles without support, new tools or insight.
