I work with clients that are dealing with substance abuse and coinciding mental health symptoms and disorders. I meet with adolescents and adults as well as families and couples. I enjoy helping individuals who are needing support in all areas of life. I have over 8 years experience working with individuals and groups who have experienced co-occuring mental health and substance use disorders and are associated with the legal system along with DUI evaluations. I currently provide therapeutic services for adolescents, adults, couples, and families in the Wamego and surrounding areas.

As a newly qualified counselor, I am driven by a deep passion for helping others navigate the challenges of life. I have always believed in the power of empathy and active listening, and I am excited to embark on this professional journey where I can apply these qualities to make a positive difference in people's lives. My approach to counseling is rooted in understanding the unique experiences and perspectives of each individual. Trauma is common and over half of all people will have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. It does not have to continue to disrupt life. My mission is to help people find their power again and move past their trauma so they can live their best life in accordance with their values and goals and fully live and enjoy their lives. I use trauma informed care first and foremost along with a blend of other modalities in order to help clients find their own strength in managing their symptoms, learning self-compassion, and regaining their internal locus of control.

Hello! My name is Dr. Jared Durtschi. My specialty is working with couples who are facing challenges, such as emotional disconnection, frequent conflict, considering divorce, growing apart, infidelity, substance use, and parenting issues. I provide discernment counseling to help couples decide if they want to work on their relationship or end their relationship. I also provide individual therapy to adults struggling with various challenges related to mental health, their relationships, life transitions, stress, and burnout. I use evidence-based treatments, my work is strengths-based, and collaborative in nature.
