My primary treatment approach is EMDR, a highly-effective, evidence-based treatment for trauma. As a strengths-based therapist, my goal is to guide clients into recognizing their own abilities to cope with difficult experiences. I work with adolescents and adults.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional with 20+ years working with children, adolescents, and adults who have suffered some type of trauma in their lives. I work with sexual, physical, and emotional abuse as well as other circumstances such as school violence, medical procedures, and any traumatic event affecting the day to day life experiences.

Accepting difficult situations in life and moving towards change is a journey you don't have to face alone. I have 10+ years of experience working with adolescents and adults who struggle with a history of trauma, impulsivity, overwhelming emotions/emotional outbursts, feeling disconnected from others, poor relationships, poor sense of identity, thoughts of suicide and self-harm. These symptoms and behaviors are often a result of feeling unheard, invalidated and/or traumatic experiences.

I find the greatest joy in working with families to repair and build nurturing relationships. Coming from a playful perspective I love to help children and their parents find their self-worth and express their true feelings in ways that they can understand each other. I utilize my training and background in child development studies to help children and parents understand each other in appropriate ways. I keep in mind that each child and family is unique, seeking to understand without judgment.

My philosophy is holistic in that I feel like it is important to examine each part of life because I truly believe everything is connected when it concerns mental, emotional, and physical suffering and pain. I have recently completed a yoga teacher certification so I am able to incorporate somatic principles and movement into my work with clients.

I can help any person who has lost the thread of meaning in their life. A person who might even be asking themselves, What is the point of continuing on? There might be past traumas, depression and/or anxiety, perhaps harmful behaviors they can't seem to shake. There might be a great deal of fear. But ultimately, they need a fresh perspective on what it means for them to be alive, and to regain the sense that their choices matter.
