I work from a client centered and affirming perspective using evidence-based interventions, techniques and skills drawn from a blend of therapeutic modalities.

My belief is that the human capacity for healing is limitless. I also believe trauma can be healed. My specialty is working with trauma, PTSD, and Anxiety. My strength is in treating people according to their need and getting to the root of the issues bothering them.

I work with a number of clients clients including adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Several issues I feel comfortable working with include anxiety, depression, stress management, grief issues, adjustment and change issues, Bipolar Disorders, working through past trauma, issues with self-injury, suicidal ideation, sexual/verbal/emotional/physical abuse issues, self-esteem/self-worth issues, bullying, communication issues, sexual or intimacy struggles. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA community and other gender and sexually diverse populations.

I believe in empowering people to reach their full potential by providing services that are strengths-based, practical, holistic, and focused on promoting long lasting change. I work using a style of fostering trust and authenticity,starting where people want and ending when people feel their life and issues have changed and their happiness enhanced. I believe the relationship in counseling is the core issue in treatment. This is particularly important in working with children and adolescents where no work could be done without building a warm, honest, and caring connection. I believe healing comes through the mind, body, spirit connection.

Dr. Goldenstein’s experience within the mental health field began in 2001 and continued until completing his post-doctoral work in 2011. He's maintained independent professional licensure since while offering both assessment and therapy services to adults (i.e., 18+ y/o). His 17+ yrs of graduate level clinical experience includes forensic, neuropsychological, and clinical concerns across many settings, including 8yrs of private practice.
