I have my doctorate in clinical psychology and am a licensed psychologist who specializes in treatments proven to increase children's positive feelings and ability to cope. I work with children ages 6-17 and have been providing therapy for the past 12 years. Some areas of treatment interest are anxiety, phobias, trauma, and adjustment issues (such as grief, divorce, food allergies). I have a certified therapy dog named Willow. If clients do not want Willow in session, then she is not a part of therapy. Willow is an mini Aussiedoodle, which means she has minimal shedding and is more allergy-friendly.

Maddi specializes in working with clients who struggle with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), anxiety related to life adjustments and stressors, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and specific phobias. She strives to deliver compassionate and effective treatment to clients using evidenced based approaches.

Overwhelmed, it's hard to breathe, tears well in your eyes, and you are fatigued with worry. Maybe the flood of emotions started recently or years ago. Perhaps someone hurt you, you saw something terrible happen, or you always felt down, scared and alone. You want nothing more then to feel confident again to move forward; free from hurt. My focus is on helping others resolve what is most troubling for them.

Through counseling I help people change and heal from difficult life experiences such as unhealthy relationships, childhood abuse and neglect, and other traumatic events. Sometimes people know they have had difficult experiences and want to be healthier but they don't know where to begin. Working with an experienced clinician is a key first step to begin the healing process. I also help people who feel stuck knowing how to handle difficult or toxic relationships. I love teaching people how to establish healthy boundaries in their relationships, even with very challenging people!

No one should move through life, silently experiencing emotional distress with little to no sense of hope, yet so many individuals do. I am a licensed independent social worker with over 15 years experience. I have provide therapy services to toddlers with their parents, children, adolescents, teens. I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) trained in Adlerian Play Therapy and have specialized training in the evidenced based treatment of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). My office provides a PCIT suite to offer PCIT services effectively. I am also trained in trauma informed Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with seven years of therapy experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. I was awarded the 2018 Play Therapist of the Year by the Iowa Association for Play Therapy. I have received extensive training under the direct instruction of Dr. Terry Kottman, the creator of Adlerian Play Therapy.

Children, adolescents, and adults who have faced challenging experiences in their lives or who are currently facing challenging experiences in their lives need and deserve to exist in spaces where they feel safe, can be heard and are accepted as they are. They often come to therapy because they believe they deserve to heal from their past experiences or cope with current experiences for themselves and those around them. May of them also come to believe that they are inherently worthy of existing in a space that is safe and accepting of their authentic selves, which can be very freeing.

I use a wide variety of treatment modalities to assist in overcoming difficulties. I use several treatment modalities, based on what you need. I am certified in EMDR, which is a first line treatment for helping people to overcome trauma. It is also used to treat other emotional experiences. I also assist with people struggling to cope in healthy manners, and help you to discover and implement new coping skills. You will learn new skills to assist you in having the life you want.

I enjoy working with people who are reluctant about or new to the therapeutic process. My clients would tell you that I am very laid-back, non-judgmental, and authentic. I welcome humor and enjoy working with people to shift their perspectives when things get rough. I am passionate about self-discovery, empowerment, and personal growth.
