I also have experience in working with people in recovery, trauma/PTSD, codependency, religious trauma and survivors of sexual abuse/assault.
I work to create a whole-brain and body approach to healing for each individual client through the use of EMDR. I promote seeking balance in life and advocate to help people feel emotionally and mentally empowered. I also take a trauma-informed approach in helping others better understand themselves, their behavior and how this has impacted their life. It is important to me to meet people where they are in seeking change and healing, because I believe this allows people to experience the power of freedom and choice in improving the overall quality of their life.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I know how crucial it is to build trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship.
Welcome! I'm currently accepting clients and enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing barriers to living the life they want to live. The majority of my work has been with helping preteens and teens navigate that fun (and super awkward) transition between childhood and adulthood, and I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, and self-harming behaviors. I tailor my approach to your specific needs (and comfort level), but most often draw from EMDR, ACT, DBT, and TF-CBT.

I have an eclectic style and use a number of techniques to address a broad range of psychiatric symptoms including anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse history, borderline and narcissistic personality disorders.
My goal as a therapist is to help clients who are having difficulty in our fast-paced environment dealing with life’s stressors related to marriages/partnerships, families, friendships, social isolation, employment and finances. I provide a safe place where clients know they can share in a confidential environment without judgment. All of us have negative thoughts. Realizing that we are more than our thoughts, though, can be truly liberating and allow a person to live a full and meaningful life, even when faced with struggles that may seem impossible to overcome.

I use a trauma informed approach and utilize EMDR as my primary treatment, while integrating elements of attachment theory, Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), plus play and art-based skills in sessions.
I am accepting new clients and have availability now with no waitlist. Every young person should have the opportunity to reach their potential however stressors and challenges can cause barriers that prevent this. As a child and adolescent therapist, I create an open and safe environment where a young person has the freedom to explore their developing awareness of themselves and their place in the world around them. Having an accepting space where individuals feel seen and heard promotes an individual’s own capacity for self-healing, growth, and change.

We can dive right into talking about your trauma history during the first few sessions, or we can talk about the awful sandwich you had for lunch yesterday - whatever floats your boat.
My personal practice is centered on curiosity, openness, and understanding. I will never claim to know exactly what it is like to live the life you’ve lived (as we’re all so unique!), but I will do my best to hear your story in the way you want it to be heard. Together, we will work as a team to identify, understand, and challenge the things that keep you feeling stuck. I aim to help my clients cultivate self-compassion and develop coping and self-regulation tools that can be accessed no matter what life may throw their way. My experience is primarily in working with complex trauma, anxiety, disordered eating, and LGBTQ+ issues.

I currently have a waitlist. When the pain from prior wounds causes you to feel crushed by low self-esteem or battered by a critical inner voice, it can be hard to find that spark of hope. My clients come to me carrying heavy burdens of depression or trauma and may be exhausted by the constant vigilance of anxiety. I work with people who are striving to find balance when life experiences have done damage in deep or lasting ways. Whether you are struggling with unhealthy relationships, reactive emotional patterns, or defense strategies that are causing more harm than good, I would love to work with you to find healing and growth.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
