Oftentimes we find ourselves stuck in patterns that we do not like and that do not serve us. These patterns can cause extra suffering and stress, including problems in relationships, or less than ideal functioning at work and with other obligations. Typically, we have these patterns because of experiences in our past that need to be healed. As a certified EMDR therapist, EMDR is the primary modality I use to help clients grow, heal, and change. Through my work with clients, I have observed that EMDR is a highly effective tool in healing old wounds and reworking our patterns of interacting with others and the world.
EMDR is a highly-researched and effective treatment for trauma and many other issues. The issues I primarily focus on include complex PTSD, attachment, life stress, depression, anxiety, and grief. I use EMDR fully to not only treat distress around past events, but also to help clients with current triggers and future situations that may be challenging.
Sometimes the therapy process can be complex and difficult, and my goal is to be with my clients throughout the entire process. While the most important part of healing with EMDR is your experience with yourself, I see our relationship as a vital part of the process, and as such also use this as a tool to facilitate healing and progress in therapy.
