Trainings that inform my work: CCTP - Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, (2022) EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (2018), TF-CBT - Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (2018).
Hello. I am a mindfulness based therapist. I focus on why energy in the mind-body rises when facing conflict and how it is a stress response to “keep you safe." You will be guided to recognize when you are reactive, what that does to your ability to think in that moment, and how to respond differently. When appropriate, I will also utilize EMDR to reprocess stuck trauma. It is truly life changing when you learn to pair life challenges with a calm mind-body.

In my opinion, EMDR is, by far the most revolutionary modality available to treat trauma and limiting beliefs.
I support the development of each individual's inner guidance and direction. My years of experience working with substance and behavior addictions have created a strong foundation which supports lasting healthy recovery. I accomplish this by utilizing my training in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy & Gottman's Sound Relationship House. I have found great success with those who have otherwise lost hope. My approach is free of judgment and remains deeply empathetic. I am a genuine clinician who is uniquely proficient in reaching through to the seemingly unreachable.

I am trained to work with trauma, including complex trauma, as well as grief and loss.
I enjoy working with men, woman and couples who are motivated to reduce suffering. I help clients who struggle with anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and those who are exploring a faith transition. I work with mixed-faith couples to navigate the changes in their relationship. During a faith transition clients may experience: grief, existential crisis, interpersonal problems, depression and disillusionment, loneliness and increased anxiety. I help clients understand and repair from the complex nature of this loss.

Anxiety, trauma, and depression breed constant worry, intrusive thoughts, and unhealthy and self-destructive behaviors. You yearn for relief from emotional turmoil, a deep understanding of your struggles, and effective coping strategies. You need a place to explore yourself, the problems you face, to have your experiences and pain validated. You want a sense of self-control, to be able to build self-compassion, and healthier relationships. How empowering and energizing would it be to overcome past traumas, navigate daily challenges, and feel more like who you are supposed to be?

I have many specialty areas including general anxiety/depression, perinatal mental health (for men and women), supporting those dealing with infertility, OCD, trauma and big life changes/transitions.
I can help you reconnect with yourself! It is time to find the balance that allows you to thrive and be the best version of you! When I first meet with clients they often express the feeling that they have lost their identity while trying to keep up with demands placed upon them from kids, spouse, work, and society. They put pressure on themselves to be perfect to the point of anxiety/depression. it's lonely and isolating. I am here to show you that there is hope and meaning in your future. The cycle can be reversed, and you may be surprised how capable and incredible you are with the support of a caring therapist like me.

Are you feeling stuck? Like you want your life to move forward or look a certain way, but you just don’t know how to get there? It’s okay! The feeling of stagnation could be due to lack of motivation, anxiety, depression, grief, loss or low self-esteem. Whatever your concern may be, you will be okay- you just need some guidance! I love connecting with people and facilitating the discovery of healing and empowerment that will lead to living a meaningful life.

What are you looking for in therapy? The most common goal of clients is to 'develop coping skills.' We have been repeatedly told diet, exercise, meditation, and adequate sleep can all improve our mood, but why aren't we doing it. Through processing painful experiences and emotions, I have seen clients improve their overall well-being and finally live the life they want.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
