I found an unintentional niche when I started my journey as a therapist. Most of my clients come in with very high anxiety and a disconnected from their bodies. While some truly only have anxiety, many more have discovered childhood trauma buried deep inside. My biggest surprise though was the amount of women I have seen come in with anxiety and together we have discovered undiagnosed ADHD. It has been my absolute joy to help these women understand themselves and learn to work WITH their brains and reconnect with the bodies that often feel foreign to them.

Do you feel stuck in old ways of thinking? Overwhelmed in your mind and not sure how to break free? In your past, you may have had to be the one to 'push through' difficult situations even in childhood. You may have had to grow up fast, 'be self-sufficient' as a child, or be a 'parent' to your own parents or siblings. Childhood trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, self-doubt, deep insecurity & shame all end up working together to stand in the way of your personal wellness. But they don't have to. I enjoy helping clients heal from their past, while realizing the power that they have within their own life in the present.

I work with people from diverse backgrounds: couples, families, individuals and groups -either, in English or Spanish. Issues explored: relations, career, personal challenges, trauma and family dynamics; also, gender roles, power and control issues, inequality, intimacy, sexuality, conflict and self-awareness. I provide my clients with a friendly environment that facilitates exploration, and the possibility of seeing old patterns from a different angle; with deep respect, an interested presence, and a curious attitude about my client's point of view. I believe in the power of healthy relationships. Relationships can be transformed if we are ready to re-invent ourselves.

My passion for therapy started with a desire to support teens dealing with self-harm, depression, and anxiety. As a therapist, I have also gained experience working with adults facing self-esteem issues, trauma, difficulties with setting boundaries, communication challenges in relationships, and a lack of personal identity and meaning. I aim to empower both groups to find stability and confidence in their strengths. In today's uncertain world, I strive to help clients find their footing and navigate their future. I also offer faith-based counseling at the client's discretion and have experience addressing religious trauma.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or transitioning to a different stage in your life we have a therapist that will fit your needs.
We know that it can feel like these feelings will never end, but it’s not going to be this way forever. You’ve been stumbling along trying to find your way out of the pit of negative thoughts. You’ve landed here because you believe that things can be different, you know you have it in you to reduce the thoughts from running rampant in your head. But something just keeps getting in your way, you keep running into a wall and can’t navigate your way around it. You’re not ready to give up, but you’re getting close. You want your life back, you want to find that person that you used to be.

I have extensive experience with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, impulsive behaviors including suicidal and self-injurious behaviors, poor body image, relationship problems, life transitions, and low self-esteem.
So many of us are suffering because we are unconsciously holding on to limiting beliefs and maladaptive coping behaviors that have helped us to survive in the past, but are no longer serving us in the present. We fear our own shadow and conceal parts of us that we have been taught not to like - the parts that make us human. This causes our actions to be driven by fear, doubt, and shame rather than freedom, confidence, and love. You have the power to be the person who takes up space confidently, honor your needs, and live from a place of freedom and unconditional love.

Have you been looking for a therapist that helps you become your own therapist? If your automatic thought was yes…then you have come to the right place. I offer individual telehealth therapy to adults seeking assistance in their healing process. Therefore, I am committed to creating a safe, genuine, and culturally sensitive space for those struggling with life’s hardships. I will collaboratively work with you to identify, explore, and process challenges and to learn healthy ways to manage stressors.

My own past experience with injury - related trauma helps me to relate to some of the daily frustrations, such as not being able to get outside and play after an injury.
CaLm DoWn: Has anyone ever told you this before? I know, it really gets under my skin, too. Do I really need therapy? What's the point of sitting on a couch and talking with a stranger about my problems? I'm way too busy to be speaking with this guy for an hour anyway - - All of us have difficult moments in our lives that lead us to seek out therapy. Sadness can feel like it will never end. Anger is felt in our head, but we may feel judged by others for expressing it. If only there was a button we could press that would make us feel happiness. Though that magic button may not exist, we can work to create a new path together.

To provide responsible, safe therapy for PTSD, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety Disorder, Substance Use Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder.
My use of the phrase “Top of the Morning” greeting began in my days in the operating rooms of the Houston Medical Center some twenty years ago. It was a break away from the traditional greetings. This gave birth to the idea we can begin every day over if we are willing to change. "Top of the Morning" greets you with a sense of hope. My practice invites you to an holistic, mind, body and spirit approach to therapy. Together, we can build a safe, confidential, and responsible client therapist relationship.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
